FF says Chris Paul. I say definitely Stockton and Kidd and probably Payton and others. What do you say?

3 time member of the 50-40-90 club and 2 time MVP (you'll have to google the 50-40-90 but that's ok )

You really don't think I know what 50-40-90 refers to in basketball? Get real.

But yeah you need to play some defense in order to be an all time great. Nash doesn't qualify. Paul's numbers are better than everyone else's from the past 30 years. The only knock on him is winning but I don't think anyone here wants to say Derek Fisher.

Chris Paul has done nothing for me. Not sure why he gets so much hype. He's a good player but he's not on Magic or Stockton level. I'd say he's 2 notches down from that tier.

I can agree with that.

Better than Kyrie and Russell too.

Still early for Kyrie. Don't think he has turned 25 yet. I'd take Paul in his prime over Westbrook though.

Kyrie has to show that he can carry a team. Not necessarily to a championship but to the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs. Playing with LeBron prevents that. If he gets in a situation like what Westbrook or even Harden has he has to make the playoffs and win a series or two. I think he can but until he does it no one will know for sure.

He doesn't play point regularly. Only for certain stretches in games. He's not in consideration.

Paul is better than Nash. Nash was great at somethings, but he was never a complete player.

Paul vs. Stockton is harder for me. Stockton IMO was a better "point" guard. Paul is the better all around player. So I think it just depends on what you are looking at. You cannot go wrong with either one.

Maybe Paul should get his team to a conference final before he's better than Nash or Stockton.

Stockton is overrated. Good. Don't get me wrong. But he became the all time assist leader because of Karl Malone. A lot of those assists came from stockton just dumping the ball into Malone in the post and Malone backing down his guy for his high FG percentage.

Christ, I could have dumped the ball into Malone for a lot of assists.

There are MANY guards who will say that John Stockton was the toughest player they ever had to play against. Gary Payton is one of them. Stockton was not overrated, IMO. If it was as simple as you say, there would be others who played with great big men who were right there with him in assists.

I said he was good. Just not as great as people think because he had Malone.

Stockton was not overrated, that is completely BS.

By that logic any PG that played with a great big man should be an all time great. That is clearly not true.

He entered the league 2 years after Magic. Same era but he has to be in the conversation.

Stockton wasn't dominant. Stat stuffer assist wise tough gritty guy but you have to dominate your position to be that guy.

Oh no doubt if we are talking all time great PGs he is in the conversation. I just took it as being since the era of Magic and Isaiah was over who is the best...

Well it's kinda hard to argue he's better than the all time assist leader and a multiple MVP at his position isnt it? The fact that theyre also white just make it sweeter .
