His stats are virtually the same as last year (16pts 4 assists 3 boards). Only difference is his FG percentage is higher and he's attempting one more free throw per game. I'd still let him walk even if he were doing this for the Bulls. It ain't worth max or even nearly max money.

I'd let him go at the end of the year too. Can't trust him but if you are going to make a go of it then you retain for one more year. He started slow for the Knicks but he has been playing well for about the 3-4 weeks. Case slowed him but he is consistently beating guys off the bounce now.

He had one great year and then he was just injury prone. Thibodeau made him into an MVP. But after the knee injury he was never the same player. He is an entitlement player. He thinks because he was good once that he deserves to be treated as some great player. Since returning he is an average to below average shoot-first point guard. He was an exciting player when he could drive with the ball and play above the rim. But he doesn't pass well, he doesn't shoot well and he doesn't drive much. He's basically never going to be an All-Star ever again and no one should sign him to stupid NBA money, but someone probably will.

All of it sounds good but it's not about his next contract. The Bulls have team that struggles to score in the 4th quarter. He would easily be the best guy in terms of creating his own shot. Rondo isn't an easy guy to deal with and is actually more of a coach killer than Rose ever was. I think you keep him this year and see where you're at the end of the year. The Knicks have a better team than the Bulls and Rose has a lot to do with it.

Apparently, Mulli & Haugh saw the Rose documentary yesterday. This morning during transition, Mulli broke Bernstein's balls about his portion featured in the piece. Evidently, there is a part where they depict how the Chicago sports media turned on Rose. Bernstein's voice is heard yelling and berating a caller on the air. Mulli told Dan that he was not depicted in a very favoring way.

It was pretty good. Bernstein went into hyper justification mode ranting that he meant it and stands by it 100%. Apparently, Bernstein was blindsided. He didn't know that his audio was included in the film.

Maybe he’s in the doc more than once but the part I heard discussed was Bernstein going off on a caller for stating the Bulls are better without Rose (ie - he was not bashing Rose, he was bashing the caller).

When Rose was with Bulls, Bernstein was always mocking Rose for how stupid he was. He'd constantly put his foot in his mouth when he talked to the press. A black caller got into a huge argument with Bernstein about his criticism. At the time I thought Bernstein was going too far. Time has proven Bernstein was right.

In fairness to Bernstein and all involved, I didn't see the documentary and honestly don't know the exact details. I only heard transition and Mulli's take on Dan's part in the piece. I seem to recall Bernstein saying he wasn't aware his voice was used at all but stands by everything he has said regarding Rose.
