If you were to list an all-time GS Warriors Team or an all-time Cleveland Cavaliers team, most of their current roster would be included either starting or coming off the bench.

An all-time Bulls team includes Jordan,Pippen and maybe Rodman on the second team. An example of just how amazing Jordan's run was with those 6 championships. His supporting cast was mediocre to maybe a little better than that at best.

Bulls All-time:
PG Van Lier
SG Jordan
SF Scottie Pippen
PF Bob Love
C Artis Gilmore
============
2nd team:
PG D Rose
SG Jerry Sloan
SF Chet Walker
PF D Rodman
C Tom Boerwinkle

This is the problem I have with Bulls fans. When it's a pro-Jordan argument, this is the narrative. In the next conversation they'll be telling you Pippen was a top ten player of all-time. Stop being butthurt that LeBron is better than Jordan. It's okay.

Pippen was a top 50 player of all time. He is regardless of the argument. Can you name one person that has said that Pippen is a top ten player of all-time?

Doesn't it come down to if you had to choose either LeBron or MJ for a game 7 who would you pick? I'll take Jordan every time .

Don't state that like it's a fact. It isn't hard to make an argument that Pippen is not a top fifty player. But if he is, then Jordan didn't have a "mediocre" supporting cast, now did he?

Are you arguing both sides of an argument simultaneously?

Yeah, I probably would too. But it's not ridiculous to take LeBron. Last year LeBron carried a team that wasn't better than the one it beat. Jordan never did that. His teams were the best- true, in no small part due to him, but there are other factors- and they won like they were the best. LeBron put an inferior team on his back and beat what some people thought was the best team of all time. Hell, I might take Magic in his prime over both of them.

You did not. I don't even know what to respond to. I've made it clear that I think Pippen was a top 50 player. I don't think Jordan's supporting cast was mediocre(especially during the second three-peat). What do you think?

If someone was to make a case that Pippen was not a top 50 player then I do think we have to view Jordan's supporting cast different.

That is why I questioned your point. It seems like you too are doing what is convenient for your argument to the point of doing both sides in the same discussion.

Incorrect.

The first three titles had 2 great players (Jordan/Pippen), 2 very good players (Grant/Cartwright), and a bench full of good role players.

The second three titles had 2 great players (Jordan/Pippen), 3 very good players (Rodman/Harper/Kukoc), and a bench full of good role players.

To say that Jordan had a mediocre supporting cast is ridiculous. That doesn't preclude him from being the GOAT, though.

No,it's not. Compare any of Jordan's 6 winning teams to the lineup's of GS or Miami. Cleveland had less talent than the other two teams mentioned from their CS team last season.

I'm comparing the rosters from Jordan's teams to the teams that have won recently.

This is just wrong. He had Pippen, who was an all-time great, Rodman, who is an all-time great defender and rebounder, and one of the best casts of role players ever assembled. You can't compare the lineups head to head because basketball doesn't work that way. But even if you did, the Bulls would come out well.

None of the teams that are currently playing are as deep as the first Bulls threepeat team, let alone the Celtics or Lakers just prior to them. Golden State comes close though and is somewhat of a throwback in that way.

I think the first threepeat teams were easily better than the second.

I disagree. The only advantage was that Jordan was in his prime. Pippen had not yet become a full superstar. They had Grant, who was certainly better offensively than Rodman but wasn't as good defensively or as a rebounder. Cartwright was a skeleton (though he was still effective defensively). Pax/Armstrong were mediocre. Then there was a blob of bench players like Scott Williams and Stacy King.

I still think the '96 team is the best ever. Jordan (past prime), Pippen (in prime), Rodman, Kukoc, Harper, Kerr, Longley, and Jack Haley.

Yeah but it's not like he was bad in 96. He still won MVP

I think Rodman and Kukoc tip the scales to the second but I think you can make an argument either way.

Curry's injury and Green's suspension played a role. It would be ridiculous to take a player who had no real competition in the East for 7 years and who is 3-5 in the Finals over Jordan. LeBron is a great player but he isn't an alpha.

I agree with leash about the second three-peat team.

Ron Harper really gets forgotten about when it comes to just solid players on that team.

Scottie being in his prime made the 2nd 3-Peat possible. Father Time was catching up with Jordan.

That was the best team. They coasted to a championship. Hitting the gas once so they could embarrass the Magic

Only let their foot off the gas when they got bored toying with a very talented Seattle team
