Pax fucked up again, could have gotten more for him 5 months ago. This draft had 5 guys who are going to be great and Ball ain't one of em, so those too 6- 8 picks were very valuable this year. A team would have ponied up more if they had Jimmy for the playoff run this year. Pax got fleeced.

Gar could have gotten the 1st pick and the another pick without giving up their own pick.

Boston was going to give the Bulls 2 picks at the deadline. One of those picks would have been the #1 pick. The Bulls wanted their players instead.

I dont think there is any real certainty with that.

It was reported by MANY. The Celtics offered picks and Gar wanted players.

He's gonna finish ahead of all those guys except for Kawhi.

I'm not saying he's gonna be a top 5 player next year. It'll be like when Noah came 4th. It's just gonna be one of the stories of next year I think.

Butler is going to score 30+ PPG in the West.

No chance. He'll average around 20 and play great defense because he doesn't have to score all of the points. If they can grab a player in free agency and stop trying to dump Rubio the Wolves should be a top 4 team in the West.

I got Jimmy at 24 PPG, 7 RPG, 5.5 APG, 27 PER next season. I see no reason why his yearly improvement won't continue.

Zach Lowe is the best basketball writer in the country. Here is his take on the trade:

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/page/pr ... -bulls-nba

Key excerpt:

Quote:
This was Minnesota's last summer to really play around with its core, on its terms. The Wolves aimed big, flipping LaVine, Kris Dunn and the No. 7 pick to the aimless Bulls for Jimmy Butler -- a top-10 player in the league last season, smack in the middle of his absolute prime -- and a draft pick.

Because the Wolves have players that can score. He doesn't need to carry the load. He can save himself until it matters.

here's another excerpt for ltg, who keeps falsely claiming this was the best they could have got

Quote:
They might have been able to get more at last February's trade deadline had they gone all-in on rebuilding then. Boston was willing to offer a healthy package centered around expiring contracts and future picks -- including the 2017 Nets pick, perhaps with top-1 protection -- if they could retain most of their present-day core, sources told ESPN.com (and others) at the time. Instead, the two sides haggled over Crowder, sources have told ESPN.com. Chicago wanted him, along with picks. Boston wanted to keep him, pair him with Butler, and make an honest run at LeBron James. The deal died, and now Chicago wants to go young

This alone should get Gar Forman fired. I'm reading Uncle Jerry's son was behind it too.

Crowder's certainly a solid player, but what the hell good was he going to do the Bulls in a rebuilding phase ? He's more of a complimentary player on a contender, definitely not a building block

I don't think I believe that. Isn't he technically Gar's boss?

Signs off on horrendous trades and draft picks and hides from the media. Not sure what other responsibilities he has.

He also announces yearly that he'll be taking a more active role in the Bulls decision making in the future. That way if they're successful he can take the credit and if they're not, he can say he'll be taking a more active role in the Bulls decision making in the future (so any disappointment is really Gar's fault).
