no kidding. if paxson wanted a rebuild before then they should be doing it then. If Pax let Gar talk him into waiting then that is even more reason why Pax should be gone now as well.

Michael didn't want to rebuild either. That's why they wouldn't trade Butler. It looks like someone convinced him to let Butler go and rebuild.

I got Jimmy at 24 PPG, 7 RPG, 5.5 APG, 27 PER next season. I see no reason why his yearly improvement won't continue.

Over/Under on the # of games it will take for iso Butler to become the norm is at 3.

Rubio should run the offense. I don't understand why they're working so hard to dump him. He was really the only player that appeared to completely buy into what Thibs was selling last year.

Also interesting how a 7th or 8th seed is now something to cheer and cherish.

No it isn't. The Bears were 2 years removed from the Super Bowl and still had a Super Bowl defense. They Wolves haven't seen the playoffs in more than a decade. The expectations for Cutler was be competent enough to help our defense get to the Super Bowl like Rex Grossman. All the Wolves are asking Butler is to help them make the playoffs. It's harder to be like Rex Grossman than lead the Wolves to the playoffs.

For a young team looking to build it means a lot. For an older team like the Bulls it was meaningless.

Hope springs eternal on the Minnie front again. Glad to see. New and unknown fans abound now. It's a beautiful thing.

I think at best you can hope for a loss in the Western Conference Finals to Golden State...(i.e. Packers).

I think they're a couple of years away from that.

Post subject:  Re: Jimmy Butler

yeah, i would agree...but that's the best that a Timberwolves fan can expect (imo).

Bulls aren't sniffing ECFs in the few years.

Post subject:  Re: Jimmy Butler

Well, the wolves have only made the WCF once in their entire history, iirc. I think most fans would take that.

Lots could still happen with this GS team. If Steph, Klay, Durant, and Green all stay together the rest of the league is in trouble. If even one of them leaves in the next couple years I think the Wolves can absolutely be title contenders with the right ancillary moves.

Class

What can I say?! I truly struggle with the words because you’ve been so much more than just my home for the last 6 years, you’ve been my life! You’ve embraced me like a son and pushed me to get better every day, every season.

I can honestly say that I have always been incredibly motivated to succeed; it’s just the way I’m built. But I know I owe so much to the person I am now, and to the player that I’ve become, to you.

You always pushed me to never give anything less than my absolute best night in, night out. That’s what you expected. That’s what you deserved. And, I hope you know that’s what I dedicated my life to every time I walked into the facility or stepped on the floor of the United Center.

Thank you to the entire Bulls organization and Reinsdorf Family for taking a chance on me in 2011 and for giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love for such a great franchise. I’ll never forget the feeling I had when I was drafted and when I played my first minutes. It’s an experience that I wouldn’t have wanted with any other team and I’m so thankful to you for giving me that opportunity.

Chicago, I love you. Thanks for embracing a kid from Tomball like one of your own. On to a new home and a new organization. Thankfully, with some familiar faces! PS… AND PROBABLY MOST IMPORTANT! THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY BEHIND THE ORGANIZATION THAT DO NOT GET THE SHINE THAT THEY DESERVE!! YALL ARE THE REAL ALL-STARS!! – Jimmy G. Buckets (@staceyking21)

Does this qualify as an "assanine thought"? Sure it does.

Signs off on horrendous trades and draft picks and hides from the media. Not sure what other responsibilities he has.

And now we have hit the "Assanine thought" trifecta. All in one thread. A virtual smorgasbord for bad thoughts.

What? Nearly everyone on the board except you would mostly with this thought.

It’s funny how desperate you’re getting on this. Kinda sad but amusing nonetheless.

Once again, it’s asinine.

Me being a board outlier (at least amongst those that care enough to comment) is of little concern. It looks as though the Bulls have fleeced Thibs on this Butler trade. They have acquired 3 starters for him. Dunn is looking like a player and he was always the key to trade. The Wolves have the look of a .500 team. or worse.

Butler has had little impact also. I posted their record over the last 21 games and they have a murderous schedule in Jan.

Zach Lavine speaking truth:

Quote:
"I'm going to make sure I hold up my end of the deal to where I don't think it's a lopsided trade," he says. "Jimmy Butler is a top-10 player right now. I'm not saying I am, but I have expectations for myself, and I intend to meet those."
