No idea how he and Harden co-exist, especially in a D'Antoni offense.

Spurs dodged a bullet by not getting him IMO.

Given his results leading that team and his injury history, I wonder about that.

Still performs at a high level but probably only has about 2 more years at that level.

If he ever seemed to come up big, I'd feel that way. But all I ever seem to remember are his dribble tantrums, injuries and earlier than expected losses.

But Blake Griffin has to be sighing an undeserved moment of relief, for now.

He and Harden are ball dominant guys that need a lot of dribbles. This is going to be really interesting. Maybe D'Antoni will even accept Melo in a trade.

Harden was pushing for this trade, so I think he wanted a PG to take some of the offensive load from him. Has Paul ever played with an elite shooting guard like Harden? This def will be interesting.

Not that I can think of. I can't see Harden deferring much either. He may have become enamored with all the triple doubles from last season.

Harden and Jamal Crawford would be somewhat comparable but Crawford came off the bench. Jarrett Jack and Paul used to play off one another but Jack too was a bench player.

I agree with the first point, but supposedly Paul and Harden were two of the driving forces behind this trade. We'll see. I disagree with the second point.

I just don't think a guy like Paul who needs the ball in his hands to such an extent is likely to fit in well in San Antonio's system, especially since if anything they should be looking to get younger. Obviously Kawhi is already great but I think Paul stifles his chances of developing even more and clashes with the kind of system they've been running.

I feel like this part is being talked up a bit too much though. I know that's been his MO since he's been in the league, but he's never been in a system where he has been asked to play without the ball. If he can shoot 40% from 3 again and play great defense while sharing some of the ballhandling/playmaking abilities with Kawhi it would have been a great move, depending on how much the Spurs would have had to give up.

That Aldridge contract is going to waste half of Kawhi's prime.

Paul is pretty much guaranteed to be in the HoF but he's one of the most overrated stat accumulators in NBA history.

The one time I genuinely laughed at Skip Bayless was when he started calling Paul CP0 to wind Stephen A Smith up

That's pretty funny coming from a Kobe guy, but it's not true at all. Look at all of his traditional + advanced stats and they speak for themselves, and the eye test backs them up. I guess if you wanna call him a choker in the playoffs you can, but I'm not sure he's ever lost a series his team was favored to win, except maybe that Rockets series two years ago.

It's hard to reconcile stats that say he's arguably a top 5 PG of all time with some of the worst failures you've seen from a player of his caliber.

Kobe was a scorer. Other than the last couple of months before his achilles injury that was true for his entire career. LeBron is a stat accumulator.

And Kobe was the biggest me-first stat guy of the past 20 years. C'mon.

His failures in the playoffs. A guy that looks that great shouldn't sucknworse than Marshmelo. What was wrong with Kobe being selfish? The Lakers enjoyed a lot of success because of it. His last couple months before his injury he adjusted his game to try to win. That probably led to his injury.
