Within the next 2 years.

Once he goes for the longterm deal it means he knows he is about to breakdown.

I think so too. Thought he was slipping last year but he proved he can still do it. He has lost some athletic ability particularly in the hops area but he is still athletic. He has slipped a lot defensively.

I think this is the year where the best player in the league tag gets taken away. Following year is when he begins to breakdown.

West adds to its superior talent pool. From someone on Twitter:

3 of these players will not be All-Stars:

Curry
Durant
Klay
Dray
Kawhi
Harden
CP3
Westbrook
George
Gasol
Butler
Towns
Davis
Cousins
Lillard

I still can't believe Reddick will get paid $23M next year.

LeMarcus Alderidge cannot be a major player a team that eliminates GSW. Sorry, Kawhi.

13 PTS 6 REB. Wiz probably going to match. Wall wanted George and now he has to settle for Porter taking up a massive chunk of the team's cap space.

Not to mention Snell and the multi million dollar contract he's going to get. Whatever article I read about Snell mentioned that he had just averaged the highest minutes per game in his career. That was the lead when mentioning the money he's going to get.

I think I remember reading similar quotes last year or something. They're obviously right, and their sentiment was probably right even before the latest NBA TV deal.

Brian Urlacher retired with about 72M in earnings from his NFL paychecks. I compared his earnings against Jamal Crawford since he entered the NBA around the same time Urlacher entered the NFL. I also chose him because while he's been a very good player he's nowhere near Urlacher's level in terms of superstardom or whatever. Right now Crawford is around 102M in earnings after 17 years. Urlacher played 13 but Crawford beat him in earnings even after 13 years. And the majority of Crawford's earnings came before the new TV deal. And I'm sure this is true across the board except for the Peyton Manning types. But again what does it say when you can't even beat the earnings of a third tier NBA star/6th man specialist even if you play at a HOF level in the NFL? Of course 74M is more than enough for the vast majority of people but if you get injured in the NFL then you can forget about that dough. Again if I'm a parent and I see my kid's got potential as an athlete then I don't see how you'd steer him to the NFL over the MLB or NBA assuming he's got the requisite skills and body type for all three leagues.

For the love of god can some explain how NBA salaries are so astronomical? All I ever hear is that no one is interested in the NBA. How can they afford to pay such salaries with all ofl the apathy that exists? No one cares about the league after all.

The Jeff Teague signing seems like a bargain now. So does Rubio's contract. Owners are giving out dumb contacts. Pay the stars not role players.

Philly's been smart about it. That's why I really hated the Felicio contract. There's just zero reason to give a guy like that 4 years.
