Yet another guy that demonstrated that he would be a player after playing well during the summer league. Went from being booed on draft night 2 weeks earlier to being applauded and cheered in Vegas.

The MVP thing doesn't much matter. Ball shouldn't have been MVP last year anyway.

He wasn't the best player on his own team let alone the League.

You could also see that guys like Selby weren't pros either. He was an undersized shooting guard. You could see that from the Summer League.

He scored a lot but his game didn't translate to the NBA.

Same with Rice.

As far as Ball goes I knew he wouldn't be shit too.

Also like to add that most of the MVP guys were 2nd year guys. They'd already played a season in the league. We didn't need a 2nd year of summer league Ball to assess them as they'd already been indistinguishable during the previous summer. They also had unremarkable rookie years.

ltg, are you willing to admit that you were wrong on E'twaun Moore?

Nah he stinks and he still isn't better than Tony Snell.

It's pretty close, depending on if you need offense or defense more. Snell is a decent player though.

Nope not going to happen. I don't need to find articles supporting what I think because they will be ignored or the source discredited. I watched with my own eyes and I provided statistical evidence to support my argument.

The fact is that he was overhyped and if he were so dominant then why did they win both games in which he didn't play?

There isn't a guy in the NBA that could shoot 38% from the field 23% from 3, avg 4-5 turnovers a game play shitty defense and people would think he was great. Not one. It's not an old school or new school argument it's a basketball fact.

Once the season starts the myriad of excuses will follow.

Sometimes it's good to be prophetic.

It is kind of funny that you think Summer League is informative, I don't, Lonzo wins Summer League MVP, and I think he will be good and you think he won't be.

Lonzo Ball shot 38% from the field

23% from 3

5 turnovers per game.

Shitty defense.

He wasn't the best player in that Summer league.

There was a lot of hype associated with that award. He also averaged 32 minutes per. Really more than that if you exclude the last game where he was injured.

I forgot that Simmons is a rookie. I will revise it. Put him on the first team and remove Fox.

We will see where we are at the end of the year.

Lonzo ball shot better than Steph Curry in Summer league: FACT.

Lonzo wasn't the best player in Summer League? The voters and history disagree with you.

Turnovers? All rookies have issues with turnovers. And as long as he continues to have an assist to turnover ratio greater that 2:1 I wouldn't be at all concerned.

Fist player in summer league history to average more than 9 assists. First player in SL history to have a triple double, he had 2 of them. First player in SL history to have a game with 30+ points and 10+ assists.

BUST.

I got him as ROY but none of that means a fuckin thing. Summer league is literally worthless when it comes to predicting future success.

Come on FF. You got to get your weight up my man. Does this classify as an "asanine thought"?

It does not. Indeed, Lonzo winning Summer League MVP and then struggling a lot in the first quarter of the season validates that opinion.

That Summer League MVP was a product of hype and I called it at the time. You predicted that he'd win ROY and he is struggling to be 2nd team.

Definitely qualifies as an assanine thought.

I got the Pelicans in. Memphis out. Think Clippers will sneak in. I think the Jazz will drop out. Denver in as well. I got Phoenix as a dark horse. Wolves in also.

Top 4

G.S.
OKC
S.A.
Houston. Not in any particular order.

Phoenix?

They will be a bottom 5 team and have a chance to be the worst team in the league.
No chance OKC tops the Spurs unless Kawhi misses time.

Since we are doing this dance, wanna admit that having the Suns as a possible playoff team was an asinine thought? I know summer league told you they were good but that’s not the case.

I disagree but let's do it then. Bump this whenever you want with your list

It should be over by the 15th I think.

Ready?

Top 10 picks or all lottery picks or any rookies. Doesn't matter

Let's do it like this so as to avoid ambiguity. I will state who I think the Rookie of the Year will be. I will also provide first team all rookie. You tell me if you agree or disagree.

ROY Fultz

First team all rookie

Fultz
Tatum
Josh Jackson
Dennis Smith
Fox

Ball will underperform. Father predicted ROY and playoff berth. Nowhere near either.

Second team. Ball
ISAAC
Markannen
Luke Kennard
Donovan Mitchell.

Overperform underperform is too ambiguous.

Give your predictions or else leave it alone all together.

Bump. I'm looking good on this one.

Too bad Fultz hasn’t been healthy.

I think you guys are both going to be wrong about Tatum. Not enough minutes and playing time to get he numbers needed for all rookie first team, maybe not even for 2nd team with this class.

FF is wrong about Zach Collins (unless you're talking about J. Collins which I doubt since you didn't watch summer league). He probably had the worst summer league of any first round pick and was greatly outplayed by teammate Swanigan.

My way too early predictions for all rookie:

First team:
Ball (will lead the league in assists as a rookie)
Simmons
Josh Jackson
Smith
Fultz

2nd team:
Fox
J. Collins
D. Mitchell
Swanigan
Kennard

Could move up: Bam Adebayo and Kuzma.

I'm a little concerned about how Philly is going to play with all that youth. Simmons and Fultz are both ball dominant and the big guy is going to need a lot of touches. I wouldn't be shocked to see Fultz's stats suffer a bit.

I agree on Philly. I forgot about Simmons still being classified as a rookie. I think he will win ROY. Brown has already said that he is going to run the team. 3 young guys all trying to establish themselves. Someone or 2 will most likely be left out. Reddick Saric and that shot happy ass Covington will also have to get shots too.

Don't know about Ball leading in assist either. He will have to avg 11 or better to do it if you go by the league leaders from last season.

Again Bump. This thing came up roses for me.

I'm really just trying to see how many will turn out right for both teams. There are 10 slots between the two teams. Lets see where we are at with it at the end of the year. Lets see how many out of ten that we get right.

It also looks like I got the ROY right too.
