This seems like a rare trade where both sides appear to lose. Cavs lose for getting a one year rental of a downgrade at PG and Celtics lose because Ainge sat on his assets for too long and gave more of them up for Irving than what probably would have been necessary for George, Butler, or Cousins (in before the inevitable "but Irving is a winner/killer/greatest PG defender in the league"). If Cleveland gets the Nets pick though they probably come out better. |

Boston upgrades at the point and there was no room for Crowder on the wing with Tatum and Brown waiting in the wings. Stick a fork in the Cavs. Ainge is putting a team together that will challenge G.S for years to come. |
