He hasn't had a chance to be a champ without LeBron. Any fair comparison you want to make between the two pretty much necessarily needs to end at LeBron's first three years in the league.

Kyrie is a weaker version of Westbrook with TWTW. He's an all star.

I'd rather have Kyrie. Westbrook is the most selfish player in the league and that's a huge reason he's never gonna win a ring.

The next time Kyrie gets 10 assists will be his first. LeBron had to call him out publicly for 0 assists. Westbrook wants to win more than any player in the league and he gives his all on every play. Kyrie just wants the fame. Kyrie isn't close to Westbrook.

Who really consistently plays defense besides Kawhi?

Lots of guys, but I'm assuming you're talking star players. LeBron used to before he slowed down and aged. Klay Thompson. Durant the past two seasons. Chris Paul used to before he started slowing down also. I wanna say Butler but we both know that's bullshit unfortunately.

Why does Kyrie need to dish out 10 assists to prove to you he's a great player?

He's a Kobe fan so he still holds people to that high bar in terms of unselfishness.

Russ is MVP and the first player since the Big O to average a triple double. If Kyrie tries really hard this season maybe he can make the second team all NBA for the first time.

Correct. And Kyrie an NBA champion. Selfish vs unselfish.

And so would Westbrook if he traded spots with Kyrie.

Kyrie in no way shape or form could do what Westbrook did this past year.

Why do you put any significance on who makes the first, second, and third all NBA team? When Wade and LeBron were in Miami, Wade made the 2nd team in their first year playing together (Derrick and Kobe were 1st team). Wade was 3rd team the next two seasons. Then nothing.

First sentence is false and second sentence doesn't mean anything. Westbrook in no way shape or form could do what Kyrie did this past year either.

So you don't think Westbrook and Lebron could have beat GS that year?

No, I don't. Kyrie's shooting and one on one ability in the halfcourt were a very large reason they won. Westbrook is terrible at both of those things. LeBron needs an offensive minded sidekick. Westbrook is just a mini LeBron who isn't as good. He wouldn't compliment him nearly as well as Kyrie did. No chance Westbrook is making that game winning three in Game 7.

So you're saying Westbrook is a downgrade from Irving to such an extent that Cleveland wouldn't have won last year and went to three straight finals overall? LTG come on man stop logging in as FF.

I just explained it. Not sure why you're laughing. It's a pretty rational thought. You think you can just mix and match players like a fantasy team with no repercussions. Actual basketball doesn't work that way.

And actual projections don't mean Westbrook would have found himself in the exact same situation that Kyrie was in when he hit that three. You may have small details right about LBJ and Westbrook needing to complement each other better if they were on the same team but in the big picture it's irrational to suggest they wouldn't make the finals three straight years given that they already did with Irving.

Read the thread again. I never suggested they wouldn't make the Finals three straight times. Given the ease with which they did it, I have no problem believing they could have done it with Westbrook. I'm pretty sure they weren't beating GS with Westbrook. It's the same reason Westbrook could only win one playoff game this season against a fairly evenly matched opponent.

Only thing Kyrie can do better than Westbrook is dribble. Dribbling didn't get The Professor far.

I dunno, I'm old fashioned I guess. I watch the games. I've seen Kyrie go toe to toe with the best players in the NBA on the biggest stage in the NBA. Haven't seen Russ do that.
