yep regular season basketball > NBA Finals.

Watching teams battle in the East for the 8 playoff spots is going to be a helluva lot more entertaining than watching the Warriors mow everyone down in June. Honestly, I'd rather watch Philly vs Milwaukee in January than watch GSW vs Cleveland in June.

That said, I screwed up last night. Was recording Cleveland vs NYK and stopped recording it when NYK went up 18 in the 2nd half.

It's got to be killing MANY that the Association has taken all the sizzle (& ratings?) from the NFL

Ingram is trying to steal the show but Simmons/Embiid is too good. I know I sound like a broken record but I love watching Simmons play. He's gonna be so fucking good in a year or two it's hard to figure what his ceiling is.

I think Embiid's ceiling is even higher. If he could just stay healthy I could easily see him being the best player in the NBA for years, he has transcendent talent.

I don't think he can stay healthy but if he does it's an interesting question. I'm pretty firmly in the Simmons camp on that one though.

I seriously doubt his ability to stay healthy too and I recognize how amazing Simmons is. Embiid though has it all. He has imposing big man size and strength, he can anchor a defense, he can pass beautifully, he can crash the boards, he has three point range and he's a goddamn beast in the post. He's a generational talent.

I agree with all of that and still think Simmons will be better.

Or I could be wrong and Embiid might be the greatest player in history. Who knows?

He's on some Olajuwon/Shaq shit right now. The quickness, explosiveness and strength is off the charts, combined with a crazy array of post moves.

Yeah. Simmons is on some Young LeBron But Better shit. It's crazy to think how high this duo can go.

If Embiid can stay healthy can you imagine what he and Simmons can do together over the next few years? Crazy.

Embiid/Simmons barring injury might be the 2nd coming of Magic/Kareem. Maybe not as good as those 2 but not too far behind. The one difference might be found their ages. Simons and Embiid are about the same age whereas Kareem and Magic had a sizable gap in their ages.

Maybe What Penny /Shaq should have been.

Embid and Simmons are studs obviously.

My big question when watching the Sixers is did Sixers management not realize going into the year that Simmons was going to be the PG for the next decade? The pick of Fultz makes less and less sense as the season goes on. The trade up to #1 makes even less sense than that. Tatum on the wing would seem to be a helluva lot better fit for this team than another ball dominant guard.

It seems to me like back in June the Sixers didn't realize what they had in Simmons.

Embid
Tatum
Covington
Reddick
Simmons

3 great shooters, 2 of whom can slash as well, surrounding a dominant low post guy and a 6'10 PG who likes to operate in the lane. Seems perfect to me.

Got the two best teams in the league tonight against eachother. Should be a good one. Celtics winning streak probably ends finally.

Boston doesn't have enough offense for G.S. but one of the things that will benefit them going forward is the competitiveness of Tatum and Brown. They don't play like 1st and 2nd year players. They get after it.

Yeah that was a nice run at the end of the half. Their defense is for real.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin' .... you know those troupes (?) that do the trampoline slam dunk shit at halftime of MANY NBA games?

Well, the squad working Boston tonight is very white. There might be one balck guy ... I can't really tell for sure.

Interestingly, their cheerleading squad is pretty diverse.

Only just so ... entertaining but not too terribly disciplined really ... slotted very nicely into the old cliche of only needing to watch the last two minutes of an NBA game.

Guys just weren't making open shots. I thought it was a well played game by both teams. Boston played great defensively.
