Post subject:  Which of these hypothetical teams would be the best?

Would a team made up of only former Kentucky players be able to beat teams made up of former players from different conferences? For instance, would the UK team be able to beat the team made up of all former Big10 players, ACC, BigEast, Pac12 etc.

Another maybe more interesting questions...who would make the 12 man Kentucky team?

C: Cousins
C: KAT
F: AD
F: Kanter
F: Kidd-Gilcrest
F:Labisseiere
F: Randle
G: Wall
G: Bledsoe
G: Booker
G: Murray
G: Fox

That would be my stab at it. They look a little weak at SF, but are loaded at every other position.

The San Diego State U alumni would beat that team.

Gotta think UNC is winning this type of tournament, no?

Is this all time or current NBA players because Kentucky has no shot if it is all time.

Not sure if you're serious but try to put together a roster of current players from UNC that matches that UK team. It would be ugly

I guess shakes doesn't specify but if you look at his UK team I think it's clear he means active players.

I didn't think it was current but after Brick's post I realize it is probably current. Yeah I don't think anyone is beating this Kentucky team.

yea just talking about current players. No team comes close to Kentucky so don't even try, but what I was asking is could a team of NBA players from specific conferences be able to run with Kentucky. Just took a glance at ACC players in the NBA and they would get killed by Kentucky. Only position they match up is PG (Paul, Irving).

What about Big East all stars or Pac12?

I'd have to think about it a little more but off the top it would appear that the Big 12 may be able to match up with them.

Embiid
Myles Turner
Wiggins
Durant
Buddy Hield
Marcus Smart
Deandre Jordan
Avery Bradley
Blake Griffin
Lamarcus Aldridge

Here is the Big12 team...

C: Deandre Jordan
C: Embid
F: Aldridge
F: Demare Caroll
F: Durant
F: Griffen
F: Middleton
F: Myles Turner
G: Avery Bradley
G: Smart
G: Wiggins
G: Tony Allen
G: Buddy Hield

Starting lineup:
C: Embid
F: Griffen
F: Durant
G: Wiggins
G: Bradley

Yea that team is loaded up front. A little weak in the backcourt though with on Bradley as a reliable PG + not a ton of scoring depth behind Wiggins. I'd give the forward edge to the Big12 because of the depth, but I'd give the guards to Kentucky for depth as well as having the higher level PGs.

Big East team is pretty awful.

C: Greg Monroe
C: Otto Porter (running out of legit centers)
F: Wilson Chandler
F: Kyle Korover
F: Harkless
F: Crowder
F: Hayward
G: Butler
G: Lowry
G: Jordan Crawford
G: Wes Matthews
G: D. Wade

Starting lineup:
C: Monroe
F: Porter
F: Hayward
G: Butler
G: Lowry

Not a bad starting lineup, but zero depth and the center position is pretty weak compared to the other teams.

Big 10 team is awful which shouldn't surprise too many people.

C: Swanigan
C: Leuer
F: Draymond
F: ZBo
F: Kaminsky
F: Zeller
F: Turner
G: Conley
G: Russel
G: Gordon
G: Harris
G: Oladipo (or maybe Levert)

This isn't really surprising if you follow college recruiting. Kentucky gets a good portion of the top 10 from every high school class.

sure, its still pretty amazing to see that the alumni from KY could beat the alumni from an entire major conference. It's not like Duke and Kansas aren't getting the same amount of top players that KY is.

Most of the can't miss pro prospects go to Kentucky though.
