they're trying to get more scoring...Rodney Hood, I like him too. Wade and Rose are useless, so this may end up working enough to get them through to one more finals. Hmmm.

I like Hood too but nah, they are done this year. No chance of a Finals return.

Has there ever been a team that has turned over this much on one day

Bad locker room chemistry, team that was getting old and slow; why not turn it over and see what happens. When Love comes back, it could be enough to get them through the East but they will be killed in the Finals.

First part is true, I doubt the second part is. On paper it's a near perfect fit.

Nah.

I think the main problem will be getting all the pieces to actually fire together before the ECF. This is a short window to have so many new players.

This is a perfectly reasonable take

I can't get over Utah trading Hood for a rack of basketballs. Does not compute. That's the key deal to me. With Nance, they'll be better defensively.

Yeah for as much grief as the Cavs are getting for the Thomas deal, I think the Jazz were the single biggest loser across all of these trades.

 all together, it's not a loser for the Cavs.

He’s talking about the Kyrie trade.

not sure which reporter/analyst said it, but yesterday they were claiming Lebron didn't necessarily want Kyrie traded and said if they didn't he felt they could work out their issues

These deals today make the team better. I thought they were dead in the water, but at least the team will have some life now.

he (think it was Seiku Smith) was saying that conversation occurred at the time of the trade, not like yesterday....

Yeah that has been making the rounds for about a month. I think Lebron leaked it for the purpose of trying to cover his own ass. Didn't hear much about his displeasure with the trade when it was made.

Unless Brian Windhorst reported about it at the time I'm not buying it. He is the only one in the media that I consider to be a true Lebron insider.

I think Lebron obviously has to bear some of the responsibility for the Cavs' situation, but I also absolutely believe the stories about Dan Gilbert being a busybody owner with a Krause or Gar-like chip on his should when it comes to deserving credit for personnel moves. So it's entirely plausible to me that Lebron would have preferred either keeping Kyrie or pursuing Paul George instead.

And one thing worth mentioning when it comes to bashing the Kyrie trade for the Cavs is that the Brooklyn pick was far and away the most valuable asset when the trade was made. IT being damaged goods was a calculated risk that the Cavs knew about and had a chance to walk away from.

I agree about Gilbert. I think he is meddlesome and possibly petty too but he did spend the money for guys that Lebron wanted signed. That is the one thing that I give him credit for.

I think he decided to pump the brakes when a number of the moves wanted made flopped. I also think that the prospect of Lebron leaving forced him to reevaluate how he wants the franchise to look going forward. It was a disaster last time and he is hoping to prevent it again if possible.

When Lebron Signed they were in a much better position than they are in now. No. 1 overall 2 time All Star and a developing Dion Waiters. They also allegedly had Hayward ready to sign as a free agent. They were building. Can't knock the last 3 years but the moves Lebron had them make will render them useless going forward.

He held them hostage each and every year and now they are about to pay for it.

I'm no NBA expert but haven't we known just about everything Lebron has been thinking about his organization(he hates them all) since the Finals last year?

No but he could have leaked it as he is obviously doing now. He hasn't said anything publicly in this case either but it is funny how it sort of got out. You know Gilbert or Altman aren't the ones leaking it.
