Continues to be unreliable physically and some would argue mentally:

The Cavaliers have been without Derrick Rose since November 7 and may be without him for at least two more weeks, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com writes. The club has announced that the veteran point guard’s sprained ankle will be immobilized in a boot and that he’ll undergo treatment through the end of the month.

Rose’s tenure with the Cavaliers hasn’t gotten off to as a good as start as some may have hoped after a relatively successful year with the Knicks. The 29-year-old has averaged 14.3 points per game but has only seen action in seven of the team’s 15 games this season.

The injured ankle that’s been plaguing Rose is the same one that the Cavaliers guard missed nine days due to from October 20 to October 29.

He might be the softest pro athlete ever.

I can't imagine what's going on in his head. His career has been a rollercoster.

He initially injured that ankle because of a cheap shot flagrant foul from Greg Monroe back in October.

There is a reason why 52 point guards are making more money than him this year.

Ah I dont agree with that. He has got what he deserved. But it all just makes me sad. He could have been/should have been a hero to the city of Chicago. Just didn't have it in him.

He had it in him early on. The dude led his team to 62 wins and took them to the Conference Finals with Keith Bogans at SG. Would've been fun to see them go at it again with Rip Hamilton in his place.

His body didn't have it in him.

Exactly. Of course he had it in him. The guy isn't missing games because of paper cuts. He broke down physically. It sucks and while I was pissed at him for a bit, as others said I'm just sad overall. The past five years has got to be crushing on many levels for him.

Yes he broke down physically. But that is not all that happened. He didnt even try to play thru adversity or anything like that. He is a mental midget

Based on his injury history, not playing through adversity was probably the smart thing to do.

Meanwhile, point guard Derrick Rose is expected to return for the Cavaliers on Thursday night against the Magic, writes Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com. Rose participated in practice and a scrimmage today, and said he believes he’ll be “a go” vs. the Magic.

A left ankle injury has sidelined Rose for most of his first season in Cleveland, keeping him out of action for longer than initially anticipated — he hasn’t played since November 7. The latest injury in a long line of health problems for Rose had the former MVP evaluating his NBA future away from the Cavs in the fall. However, he ultimately decided to report back to the team and continue his career.

With Isaiah Thomas back for Cleveland, it’s not clear yet how Rose will fit into the team’s rotation.
