Its why he was mad about the Bulls trading him. Under the current CBA he would have had to receive the supermax deal if he had made All NBA.

Whoever signs him to a max deal will be screwed. That money should be reserved for true franchise players. Butler isn't that plus he will be 30 by the time the deal kicks in. He has only played in more than 68 games twice in 7 years.

He has the type of game that doesn't age well either. I wouldn't touch him.

Remember Iso Butler? I sure do. That seems to have been part of the problem also. They never went to Towns at all down the stretch and Butler froze him out. Its the same thing he used to do with the Bulls.

Thibs has fucked this team up. They were set up to be one of the best teams in the West but his "win now" bullshit has completely killed them. GarPax as I always believed (along with Matches Malone) , were right to whack his dumbass. I actually feel bad for the Wolves and their fans. How the fuck is Harrison Barnes making more than anyone on the Warriors except Steph Curry.

Timberwolves owner has ceded to all of Thibs requests. Including trading the owner's favorite player Ricky Rubio. Rubio's a year or two younger than Butler, despite both entering the league the same year.

Doesn't make sense for the Wolves to trade away Rubio and give up draft picks to bring in a "win now" guy like Butler in the midst of the Warriors dynasty. Towns and Wiggins are young enough that by the time the Warriors break up/fall off they'll only be in their mid-20's.

I've always thought Thibs should just to Indiana where he could be Surpreme Basketball Overlord and everyone would love him for it. I know he doesnt want to be in the NCAA but he would be dealing with none of this shit if he was raising banners at IU. He wouldn't even need to recruit, just hire him some assistants to do it. Especially with one-and-done imminently going away, its going to become a lot more about building a program and a system. The kind of daily grind that Thibs and those like him just adore.

He's probably too old for it now. Maybe when he was in his 50's.
