@wojespn: Minnesota's Tom Thibodeau is traveling to Los Angeles to meet with Jimmy Butler today, league sources tell ESPN. Original plan had been a meeting in Minneapolis, but that changed in the past 24 hours.

Just like when Pop flew to LA just for Kawhi to tell him he wanted out.

Jimmy's right about Towns but you have no choice but to choose Towns over him.

For a max effort, "team" guy, Jimmy never stops sniping from atop his peculiarly high horse.

I get the frustration. He's giving everything he has and then watches Wiggins and Towns give half assed efforts. I would want to kick their ass if I were him. Jimmy doesn't know how to be a leader and he goes into diva mode when he's pissed.

So he wants it both ways. All the credit in good times, and first to point fingers when his 21/9 & 6 isn't enough.

Supposedly disappointed in the work ethic and development of Towns and Wiggins. My suspicion is that he just feels Minnesota is too small a pond for him and he wants to be in LA or NY.

Yep. His maximum effort has made him a very wealthy man as it should. It isn't up to him to determine who is and isn't playing hard. Towns is an all league player. Butler is proving to be a bigger jerk each and every year. Saw him quoted last week as saying that a coach can't make a player play harder. Wasn't he the same guy that criticized Hoiberg for "not coaching guys hard enough". Now that it is being illustrated to be myth (coincidentally when it is being disproven by players coached by his buddy Thibs) he flip flops on it.

You don't throw teammates under the bus in the media and Butler has shown that he will do it time and time again. Get gone and don't let the door hit your egotistical ass in the rear end on the way out. He is a perpetually unhappy guy and a terrible teammate to boot. He strikes me as the damn "unsigned hype" rapper whose shitty because some other guy got a big record deal before he did. Get the hell on and take that raging lunatic Thibs with you. He has ruined the franchised and even has the owner questioning the decision to hire his overrated ass now.

The move to trade Jimmy Butler was the by far the best move GarPax has made in the past 5-7 years easy

Yep! That's why a broken down Deng was brought in to do what Butler doesn't have the ability to do. Jimmy can't be the alpha.

Could be what motivated the Knicks GM to come out and make a statement yesterday that the Knicks will not be trading any of their future 1st round picks. Something along the lines of "not making the same mistake the previous GMs made. Tho I imagine if Ainge dangles Kyrie or the Twolves offer Butler that'll change.

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy.

After a couple years with the new team he'll request another trade.

This is why it made much more sense (for a few reasons) to deal him last season. His value would have been severely diminished had they attempted to trade him going into a contract year.

Thibs should be fired and from what it sounds like the owner is considering removing at minimum one of his job titles. He has completely fucked that franchise up.

He did. People need to stop shiting on Townes because he doesn't play defense. It's 2018, nobody plays fucking defense in the NBA...if they went after an up-temp coach like DatTony, they would be playing for a conference championship. And with Lauri, Lavine and Dunn in tow.

Agreed. When your MVP for the past 3 seasons are among the bottom 5 players in terms of defense its tough to make the argument that defense is all important.

The myth regarding Thibs's coaching has also been debunked too. His abilities as a defensive coach were mostly the product of having defensive minded players. They play entirely too slow offensive with him wanting to call every play. This is a shitshow and they would not be having this problem if they had simply hired my guy Sam "The Man" Mitchell in the first place.

Ingram and Kuzma for Butler and the 16th pick they received from the Bulls. That pick has proven to be extremely valuable.

Because they would have had to give up MANY 1st round picks and other players. Ingram and salary may be enough. We all know LeBron prefers veterans.
