Yeah he got jobbed on that one. Took his team to the playoffs as a Rookie and team improved by 26 games in his first year.

There was that one time his team won that playoff series.

Carmelo had the better looking jersey too. Always thought it was cool that both the Nuggets and Cavs debuted new jerseys + court themes during the 2003 draft.

Marshmelo was one of the clutchest players in the league in the final seconds for most of his career.

Whatever influence the banana boat crew has, I hope it's enough for the firing of the joke that always has been Tracy McGrady for his hypocritical calls for him to retire. And I'm NOT a professional Melo fan.

And Pippen's struggles with elocution aside, he's still more insightful than the joke that remains Tracy McGrady

T Mac's last 34 seconds against SA that one time, think it's on YouTube, is more impressive than anything I can remember Melo ever doing.

Tracy McGrady was a hurt bitch most of the last half of his NBA career.

And I said professional Melo. College year Melo made his career better in total than Tracy' underwhelming career imo.

And I don't begrudge the now seemingly happy Darko one cent.

No it wasn't. Carmelo Anthony is 1 of only 5 players in NBA history to avg 20 points per game for the first 14 years of his career. That is more impressive than anything Tracy McGrady could ever possibly think of doing.

Time to bring out the facts and get away from talk show rhetoric.

Melo led Denver to 4 consecutive 50 win seasons (5 if you count the season he was traded in mid season)

Denver failed to have a winning season in the 4 seasons following the trade. Sort of debunks the myth that teams get better after trading him.

And their careers being soberly compared to Melo's career in terms of "quality & shape" gets win shares rendered meaningless in terms of the actual game.

Five consecutive seasons of winning 60% or better.

First 9 years made the playoffs.

Denver hasn't been to the playoffs since the year he exited. Sounds like a loser to me. How would anyone think otherwise?

Playing for a stupid Knicks organization, him cashing in and the game changing under him just isn't as easy as calling him a loser.

The Nuggets made the playoffs in consecutive years after Carmelo left. 2011-12 and 2012-13.

The first two points sound a lot like Dennis Rodman. In fact, he went to the playoffs in every year of his career except once, right? Maybe twice? And Detroit missed the playoff for many seasons after he departed.

Yep.
Provided the team with the best single season (regular)that they have had in about the last 25 but somehow someway its necessary to keep pushing the "loser" narrative.

Makes no sense.

It is kind of funny a lot of sports discussion has a player top five or loser that sucks. Leaves out a lot of greatness or even just damn good.

If you have a GOOD team, you don't want Carmelo on your team. He detracts.

Look at Oklahoma City and Houston. It is simple. This isn't just fans that take this stance. NBA franchises, with the sole goal if winning a championship, have jettisoned Carmelo. If he was good, or even in the spectrum of great, you'd think they could have kept him around?
