Agreed! Lost arguably the best player in the NBA and didn't miss a beat.

Definitely surprised the Raptors still have a legit shot of going back to the finals this year.

They had a really good record in games Kawhi didn't play last year but I still thought it was very much a fluke. The whole with that team is definitely better than the sum of the parts.

He definitely nursed them back to dominance.

Great coach, but his job is made a lot easier having Kyle Lowry on the floor as well as some of the other great leaders on that roster. Van Vleet, Gasol, Ibaka, Siakim....there isn't a more hard nosed team in the NBA.

Nah Dwayne Casey also had Lowry and yet was routinely swept in the playoffs with Lowry customarily underachieving.

Very few coaches would even think of starting 2 smallish point guards in the backcourt together.

He also makes some of the best in game adjustments in the league and is also excellent at exploiting mismatches. Thats coaching as they don't have a top 15 (maybe even top 20) draft pick anywhere on the roster.

He's unquestionably a great coach and deserving of all of his accolades.

I don't want to derail the thread, but I do want to ask wtf is Indiana thinking firing McMillan?

He got fired? First I heard of it. He shouldn't have been. He did a helluva job with that team. Bulls should look at him

He's definitely proven to be a solid coach who's gotten a lot out of the slim talent he's had in small market towns.

Well I guess he'd feel at home in a big market town that has the same success rate with big talent FAs as small market teams do. Which is to say none.

Nate McMillan was one of 4 coaches to receive a 1st place vote for CoY:

Possible with all the available coaches out there, the Pacers are looking at bringing in someone like D'antonio in an effort to keep Oladipo happy.

If KD and Riley decide not to make him non-interim, Jacques Vaughn should get a chance at one of the open head coaching positions. Vaughn had his guys playing like their games mattered in the bubble.

Game 6 125-122 win in 2x OT. Against Brad Stevens.

Another example of his greatness.

But let's not forget how great stevens is. We take this for granted but he is amazing.
