Portland a must-win tonight vs Denver, to keep the 6 seed.

They are up by 20.

Dame was dejected after last minute loss last game ("we had 'em"), so he came out with focus and intensity this game.

What a great underrated player.

Lakers winning at NO (no Zion) so Portland must hang on.

That said, Lakers playing good ball now and should easily handle the play-in games if they end up the #7.

Also, Warriors beat the Suns 122-116, Suns had 'em way down early, Steph curry unbelievable with a bunch of highlight reel shots, and he finally overpowered CP3 at the end.

Suns are tough though.

Last I checked, the Suns were +650 to win the West.

The Clippers are pretenders. Suns have beaten the Jazz all 3 times they've played. So it's the Suns or the Lakers coming out of the West.

One of those wins was in OT and one was with no Donovan Mitchell. If you're using those 3 games as the reason to pick the Suns I think that's mistaken.

I'm not sold on the Suns (or any team in the West for that matter). But maybe I'm just overly influenced from watching my Hawks beat them by 32 last week.

Really good point. I think the Suns have more talent though. It would be a tough 6 game series, no doubt. But I believe the Suns are the better basketball team.

And that game versus the Hawks was on a 2nd night of a back-to-back. It was a pickem from the moment the lines came out.

I'm not sold on the West either. The Nets are going to win this whole damn thing.

I don't know, Suns are 6-5 in their last 11 and 2 of those wins were nail biters vs bottom feeders. They've also lost two straight.

Every team has warts. Not sure about Brooklyn either. As talented as they are, can you really win when your big 3 players have only been on the court together 7x all season? Plus there's that poor team defense. Philly might be the safest bet in the East.

Like I said, I just think the Suns have more fire power. Chris Paul is playing ridiculous basketball too. He looks like Chris Paul on the Hornets or Clippers.

Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving will figure it out.

I love Embiid and would like to see his team win the East but Simmons still can't shoot. He's just going to get exposed again in the playoffs.

6 points on 9 FG attempts and 0/6 from the free throw line doesn't do it for me. He could be so much better. He is the reason they don't make the Eastern Conference Finals against the Nets interesting.

That was a dumb, backward ass hire from jump, especially when you had a run and gun coach out there in D'Antoni and a great coach in McMillan. Then they hired that flat tire.

I can’t stand the guy. That Griffin thought it was a good idea should earn him the boot as well.

If they're not a 5 seed or better if healthy next season, then he's got to go.

I think their talent (starting with Zion) is vastly overrated.

I agree. It's a terribly constructed roster that makes no sense in today's NBA. You have a dominant inside guy in Zion, but then you have a space clogging center who can't shoot in Adams. You have Ingram who can shoot and score, but you have a guard in Bledsoe who also can't shoot. Then you have Lonzo who can shoot 3s, but nothing else and struggles to run the offense in the half court. So basically you're asking Zion to own the paint, but don't give him enough shooters to get him space.

And then there's the defensive end where they are all terrible except Lonzo.

The bench is nothing either. No real bucket getters in that group.

Saying they should finish top 5 in the west is pretty ridiculous even if they had 90s Phil Jackson or vintage Larry Brown coaching. Utah, Denver, Phoenix, LAL, LAC. That's 5 teams that will be better no matter what NOP does to their team this offseason. Add in Portland, Dallas and it's easy to see why its so hard to make the playoffs in the West for a young inexperienced team.

I agree with you on pretty much everything that you stated. Terribly constructed roster. Zion is showing himself to be fairly one dimensional as a basketball player.

Inside scorer but doesn't really do anything else as a basketball player.

Would you give Lonzo 20 Mil a year? The word is that's what he is bucking for. I know that I wouldn't but what do you think?

New Orleans needs to commit to Zion. Feed the beast. But being how the NBA is now constructed, it's a tall order.

Eliminate the corner 3s. Make the line an even 24 ft and just dead end the line into the sideline.

I don't think he is a franchise player. Too one dimensional.

Watching Emblid is a joy. I just want to see big men play in the paint, that's all. I miss it.
