Kinda deserves its own thread.

Lost Hawger as a season ticket holder.

Will be interesting to see what comes of it (lol nothing)

Well at least baseball's position as the second major sport is forever made secure. Pretty remarkable considering MLB spent the last ten years actively ruining baseball any way they could, but hey!

Looks like it may have been just postponed. It's a meaningless gesture anyway. They will stomp the Magic in the next game no matter what. It'll mean more if they forfeit a Finals game.

I'm sure this will bring about as much change to police procedure as the 3 months of looting and rioting has.

Like MLB wont do 6 new things to alienate fans before next season?

There is no bottom with MLB PR

I'd agree nothing...it might be different if Milwaukee did it by themselves and were willing to forfeit a game. That would be more impressive, especially if they still won the series.

Well I dont know if you can get any more alienating than what the NBA is doing here.

That is bullshit, I read the Magic wanted to play. If so, should be a forfeit. But I am sure Silver doesn't have a dick.

There is zero chance the NBA lets it go down as forfeit. Which of course robs the gesture of what little significance it had.

Yeah, fuck Silver if he convinced the Magic to also boycott, which turns it all into a meaningless postponement.

What type of protest is both effective and acceptable? It seems to me that people will complain about or dismiss anything which garners attention. Many claim that they support "peaceful" protests, but do they really?

This is what happens when you are banned by rule from kneeling without special permission from the commissioner.

The forfeit would still be meaningless. It's the fucking Magic. They could forfeit the next game too and not sweat.

Its not a protest. The Bucks players will almost certainly still get paid the same amount as if they played and the game wont even go down as a forfeit. There are no stakes, nothing to give up. They rail against this establishment but the establishment does nothing but coddle and accommodate them.

Its just so phony and most people sense that about it, even if people cant say exactly why.

MANY only support protest for people and things they agree with. Very little consistency.

The NBA wants/needs the game to happen. Not sure why you're throwing a hissy fit at the Bucks

Thunder and Rockets too.

Wondering if they are even gonna finish the playoffs at this point. Wild.

This is truly bizarre. I wonder if the NBA bubble experiment has driven the players to the edge.

Wouldn't that be ironic. Survive covid and piss it away on this.

Interesting situation for you.

Your pissed right now, so maybe not the best time but is this something you put on the players and owner? Like would new ownership bring you back?

What salary do players receive for playoffs games? Good opportunity to get away from the bubble and return to normal life.

Possibly. I think they want to feel like they are taking a stand for something. Not sure if this is the right thing. The more stuff that comes out about the man, it sounds like the police may have unintentionally done the world a favor. I feel no sympathy for a child rapist.

Good. I hope they cancel NBA basketball forever. Who needs these over-paid racists anyway?
