The Brooklyn Nets are shutting down guard Ben Simmons for the rest of the season, coach Jacque Vaughn said Tuesday.

Simmons hasn't played since the Nets' final game before the All-Star break last month because of a nerve issue in his back. He has missed a total of 33 games this season with knee and back injuries.

After sitting out all of last season, Simmons has seen a steep decline from his days as an All-Star with the Philadelphia 76ers, posting career lows in minutes (26.3), points (6.9), rebounds (6.3), assists (6.1) and free throw percentage (43.9) this season.

Worst contract in the league and certified thief. Send him back to Australia.

If that thieving ass Ben Simmons could ever get his game back, Brooklyn would have the makings of a pretty good team. They actually have some solid pieces.

I heard them described as a team full of good role players, which seems accurate.

If only they had a star or two…

If Ben Simmons was to recapture his game and they found a better big, they could be dangerous. He would fit perfectly with that team with his skillset.

He's Back!
Quote:
It’s the first week of training camp, so it should come as no surprise that players are “in the best shape of my life” and all “have something to prove.”

In Ben Simmons’ case, though, the past two seasons have been ugly, so a return to form would be especially welcome.

And according to his teammates and head coach Jacque Vaughn, the former All-Star has looked like his old self.

“He looks really, really good,’’ Nic Claxton said Thursday at the Nets’ training facility in Brooklyn. “He’s aggressive. He’s feeling good about himself. … It’s a different energy about him. I’m excited to see what he does this year. I know he has a lot to prove to himself [and] prove to everybody else. So I’m ready to go to war with him.”

It has been a long time since Simmons has impressed anyone on the court.

After sitting out the first part of the 2021 season and then being traded to the Nets in February 2022, Simmons has dealt with back and left knee injuries that have severely limited him when he’s even been able to get on the court.

First, welcome back.

Second, dude, you lost the argument. Kyrie is a confirmed bitch, I think he's on his fourth or fifth team by now because he's so temperamental? And he's never won anything as the alpha like I said and he never will, like I said.

And Simmons? Are you serious?  He is the most embarrassing player in the league and a total pariah. He's simply not useful in any sense. You must be bored if you're looking to spark a debate on Ben Simmons, a total embarrassment to professional sports.

So is your guy Lebron James. Durant too.

According to MANY, neither has Durant

What you don't seem to quite "understand" is that this is hardly a disqualifier for anything. MANY players have never won anything as "the best guy". That doesn't mean that they are shit as players. The guy stepped on the biggest stage imaginable and dominated the reigning MVP to do it. "Bitches" don't do that.

I've never said anything about Durant? you seen rusty after your latest sabbatical. Let me remind you that my argument has been Kyrie needs LeBron more than LeBron needs Kyrie. And that's accurate - Kyrie has never won anything after leaving LeBron. So that's settled.

Nice that you completely walked away from Simmons after being reminded you lost that one too

See you when the league starts bro.

And Lebron needs Anthony Davis more than Anthony Davis needs him right now. What's your point? Kyrie hit the shot to get your guy Lebron his 3rd ring. He OBVIOUSLY NEEDED KYRIE didn't he?

And Scottie Pippen never won without Jordan. Take his rings from him!

Are you saying someone would take Simmons no 1 overall knowing what they know now?

Your point had nothing to do with whether he would go #1 or not.
Ben Simmons (even in his depreciated state) still has more All Star appearances than anyone else on that list. He might have more All Star appearances than everyone else on that list combined.

No one is drafting Ben Simmons in a redraft. He'd be a undrafted free agent.

He is the most useless player in the history of athletic competition. So yes he's a bust.

You can make fun of his confidence and his complete lack of shooting ability but to say he's the most useless player in history is crazy. Simmons causes problems for the opposing team.

Why does he play only 26 mins then? What use is there for him when he doesn't want the ball when playing offense? At least Rodman was fine with holding on to the ball to facilitate the offense. This dude doesn't want to touch the ball

If, and it's a big if, Simmons can be what he was 3 years ago, Brooklyn will make some noise. Cam Johnson also can play.

Ben Simmons was playing with a bad back for the past couple of seasons. That much was obvious to anyone that has watched him play lately.

You know what's also obvious to anyone watching as well? That fact that he blows.
