He was not even trying. He looked tired. On defensive fast breaks, he just reached out instead of getting back.

They have been targeting him all series. The play by play guy tried to couch with the announcer speak regarding "great effort" but J.J. Redick immediately rebuffed that by stating that they have been blowing by him quite often during the series.

Both games were great. What I love about playoff basketball is that the longer the series goes, the chippier that the players become. By game 7 the teams start to hate both each other and their own teammates in some cases

Hookah Doncic smokes like a fiend, pounds soda and something called AZ Ice Tea Arnold Palmer by the gallon. Jokic used to do the same with 2 liters of soda. Might still, dunno. Seems like Jokic relatively indefatigable tho.

I really wanted to see Doc lose the series with Giannis and Dame healthy. Maybe next year.

Dame should've gone to Miami. Giannis Dallas or Knicks/Warriors.

Maybe they still will.

Another franchise fucked out by allowing the player to GM

Meanwhile, the Suns enter this offseason with $209 million in salary, the biggest payroll of any NBA team, and face a projected luxury tax penalty of $116 million.

Beal, who turns 31 in June, has three years and $161 million remaining on his deal, along with a no-trade clause. Durant, who turns 36 in September, has two years and $106 million left on his deal.

And Booker's projected four-year, $221 million supermax extension starts in July.

The three players are owed $150 million next season -- a figure that is more than 14 teams' total payroll in 2024-25. By themselves, those players' salaries are enough to exceed the salary cap next season.

Lakers missed too many free throws. That was the difference in the game

It felt like a game that the Association wanted for the Lakers. I don't know what the disparity in free throws was, but it seemed wildly in favor of the away team.

Lakers missed (18-27) as many FT as Nuggets shot (8-9)

Excellent Wilbon analysis of the Denver vs Lakers series. He predicted the series to go 6 or 7. Then, the Lakers to win game 5. Today praising LeBron and the Lakers for pushing Denver(1-8 PS last 2 years). Also if LeBron moves on and becomes the first player to win a title with a 4th team how goat that would be.

really thought the Lakers would make it happen.

This is truly an indictment of Lebron. His numbers look good but when you watch him play on both ends....he had more than enough talent too and the Lakers largely stayed healthy. Don't tell me about their 8th or 11th guy being hurt a ton. The guys they needed were there most of the season.

I agree. Anthony Davis played in 77 games this season and was a legitimate MVP quiet as kept. And he has a solid supporting cast as well.
And the fact of the matter is that his team's record has been rather ordinary since he ventured West. The Gift Wrapped Bubble championship notwithstanding. Struggling to make the playoffs every year and going out first round or missing most times. It's actually the main reason I started the R.I.P. thread with him and Jordan.

No way Jordan goes out like LeBron when he has a top5 guy playing alongside him 40 years old or no 40 years old.
