The Bucks are really assembling a nice, solid team. Barring more trades, and with the contracts involved, Jennings, Salmons, Maggette, Gooden, Bogut, Douglas-Roberts, Delfino, Ilyasova, Mbah a Moute, Larry Sanders, Tiny Gallon, Darington Hobson......this could pretty much be their lineup for a few years to come.
Notice I didn't mention Redd, cause he's brutal, and I'm sure they're dying to trade that expiring contract. They should be able to to that sometime this year.
Ridnour is another nice addition that I'm sure they want to keep, and I think they'll be able to accomplish that.

Now those names usually wouldn't be that terribly exciting, but with the continuity, and the coaching of the great one, Scott Skiles, the Bucks look like a solid #4 or #5 for the next few seasons.

$10 they don't finish at or above #5 next year.

Sounds good. Now I have a reason to care about the NBA next year.

While the moves the Bucks made this year will continue to trap them in NBA hell, I would take the fifth place bet. I think you have a winner there Carrie. Even if the team won't be.

No way I'm betting anything with a bad mult.

I'll offer my Bucks analysis if you hang around for 1 week straight.

Reminds me of the Trailblazers. On paper, they look like they have some quality talent but when every single one of them is good but not great they won't be a contender.

If Brandon Jennings becomes a superstar they've got a chance but otherwise they'll be a team that constantly loses to the great teams to the East in 6 games.

I feel even more confident in our bet now that you have a four person starting rotation. ;)

I think the Bulls have more star power, and perhaps could take the Bucks in the playoffs. But at the same time, I think the Bucks will throw waves of talent and depth at opponents all season long and end up with the 4th or 5th seed.

Wow, sounds like a great season

There is no way they end up as a 4 or 5 seed

The only way I see that happening is with some major injuries to some of the other teams. It seems like a 20% shot.

Heat, Magic, Celtics, Hawks and Bulls are clearly better. That leaves them at 6 so far

With this roster, and having Skiles and Adrian Griffin on your bench, this is a minimum 60 win squad. This might be the grindiest NBA squad ever put together.

Minimum 70 win squad. They do have Drew Gooden and John Salmons.

I just can't get excited for a team that has a 6'1" shooting guard playing point guard who shoots under 40% from the field. No thanks. 7 seed, bounced in the first round.

Post subject:  Re: Bucks SOLID

Maggette gets to the line a lot and can score, but he plays absolutely no defense and is a black hole on offense. I can't see that going over well with Skiles. Too many perimeter guys that need the ball in their hands to be effective. They could pick and roll with Bogut, but i don't really see any great jump shooters on the roster. Too many guys trying to slash to the bucket, reducing Bogut to a spectator...

The Bucks just got even grindier. Bulls should be scared.

Quote:
Free agent point guard Earl Boykins has signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Agent Mark Termini said the 11-year veteran had offers from other teams but was comfortable with Milwaukee, one of nine teams the 5-foot-5 Boykins has played for previously. Boykins has averaged 9.3 points and 3.4 assists per game during his NBA career.

Last season, the 34-year-old fan favorite averaged 7.5 points and 2.9 assists in 42 games for the Washington Wizards.

Boykins will likely back up Brandon Jennings for the Bucks, who lost guard Luke Ridnour as a free agent to Minnesota this summer. Milwaukee also signed veteran Keyon Dooling.
