My opinion is that two teams are the max you can love. I also have
the Bulls and Bucks as my two teams. It may even be wrong to like
two teams in the same division but I don't care. I am actually looking
forward to this season more than I have in years. Hoping to dive back
into the NBA a lot more this year, maybe even attend a few games.

of course. i think the more you love a certain sport it's only natural to begin to like certain players and teams outside of your local team

my original 'other' team was the Warriors, Run-TMC era and I still like them and follow them

then came the Timberwolves, originally only because of KG but I also really liked a lot of their other players like Brandon, Gugliotta, etc.

finally there was the Hawks

so I have 3 "other" teams....but I guess i don't really follow the Wolves at all anymore so it's more like 2

As long as you do not go W_Z crazy and like basically every team, then like as many as you want.

For any sport, I think you can like 2 teams max but they have to be from opposite conferences.

Only one basketball team though the Nets moving to Brooklyn may change that.
One hockey team.
Four NFL teams. Bears are the clear #1. Saints #2. Jets and Broncos tied at 3.
1.2 baseball teams. If I don't move back to Chicago and get surrounded by the Sox/Cubs stuff I may become both a Sox and Cubs fan.

Four is the maximum.

Great.

I really wish Missouri had a NBA team I could like along with the Bulls, but until then I will have to like the Mavs along with the Bulls.

I think Hubie Brown has really lost his fastball since he came back to the booth.

Marv-elous is still the greatest.

I like him too...he's the best at (as B&B would say) explaining the game...you don't get a lot of BS out of him. That said, I agree with Douchebag that he's starting to lose it a bit

I really miss Chick Hearn

Do you see the Hawk getting better or worse?

sadly, i seem them treading water

they're obviously not better than Orlando or Miami, and probably Chicago. I think a 4-5 seed is pretty likely. I've said before, I think they're in (again, B&&) NBA hell right now. The only way I see them getting better is if they get rid of Bibby and get a real PG . I actually like Teague but he is far from ready. I obviously really like Josh Smith and Horford, and even Joe- but I don't see any of them making some giant leap....I think they've kind of maxed their talent out. Horford could get a little better- last year he did add some weight and his post moves are getting a bit better but I doubt he'll ever be a 20/10 guy....maybe 15/10

I think the NBA is about the only Pro Sports League that I can honestly say that I am monogamous towards....Bulls or nobody for me.

Bulls..

...used to like the Sonics.. the McDaniel-Ellis-Chambers Sonics. Kinda fell off in the Kemp/ Glove era. I guess that means I should like the Thunder.. but I haven't seen a lot of them.

New for this year- I'll add any team playing the Heat on a given night

As an NBA fan, I think it's reasonable to like as many teams as you want.

I like the Mavericks, Da Boo, Oklahoma City, the Lakers, the Bucks, and the Grizzlies (I'm a Gay kinda guy).

My favorite "other" team was the '93 Suns with Barkley, KJ, and Majerle. The McDaniel/Ellis/Chambers Sonics teams were before my time. Didn't see Chambers till he went to Phoenix but he was awesome.

I loved the Sonics with Kemp, Payton, and Schrempf and I was heartbroken when the Nuggets eliminated them in '94.

I'm with you on all of this.

I plan on getting the NBA League Pass.
I love NBA TV!
Also love Ernie, Kenny and Charles.
Can't get enough of Hubie Brown.
Enjoy Marv Albert......hard to get that whole panties thing visual out of my mind though.

And all the storylines are just incedible this year.
Bucks, Bulls with like 7 new players on each team. New coach. Raised expectations.
The Heat.
Celtics with the Oneal's.
Hawks with a new coach.
Lakers getting even stronger.
And on and on and on........

it's going to be alot of fun!

Uh.... I may have to meet you at the Bradley Center and buy you a beer.

I find it very hard to actually like and pull for more than 1 team in any of the major sports except for college football where there can be an assortment of teams to go for. I can go for different teams on a situation by situation basis but as far as year in and year out its really only 1 per pro sport.

that contradictory...

try growing up in 6 different states sometime.

i liked the hawks back in the 80's when i lived in hotlanta, and the magic because i liked shaq (LSU connection). i was fascinated by jordan but never really rooted for the bulls except when they played the pistons or the knicks. i hated the knicks ever since i left NY, same with the mets. i also liked the sonics because of kemp and payton. just great players to watch.

always hated the lakers though. always.

Why do they call it "Hotlanta" ????

It doesn't rhyme.

It's not anymore excessively hot there, than in other places.

I need to know the answer. (not Iverson)

I wasn't kidding about this. I want answers!!!

Bagels??? Anybody??

I think "HotLanta" has a double meaning.

1). Because people say it's really hot in Georgia
2). Because of the night life

NFL - Bears, Chiefs
MLB - Cubs, Dodgers, A's, Orioles
NHL - 'Hawks, Bruins, Penguins
NBA - Bulls, Spurs, Mavs

The other teams that I follow aside from my #1 teams in each sport aren't teams that I would rabidly root for, but I can say that I've liked them all since I was a yute, and always want them to do well unless they're directly competing with my team, whether it's head-to-head or in the standings...

edit: oh, and in the NBA, it's anyone playing against the Heat, as well

Only one MLB team, rooting for the Cubs is hard enough as it is...

i've always been amazed at how badly you have interpreted me in this regard. i have been pretty vocal about what teams i'm an actual fan of, and then teams i've just liked for various reasons. i can't say i'm surprised, because you live in missouri and you went to IU, so your education isn't great. but to say over and over again that i'm a "fan" of pretty much every team is so horribly inaccurate, it's almost a parody of itself.

Anyone can like as many teams as they want.

I like collections of good players or individual players on certain teams. The only situations where the 'brand' of the team is more important to me than the players themselves are the Cubs and the Bears.
