Yeah, but I don't really think it matters if your main goal is wining a chamionship. They won't be doing that for quite some time...

They are better, but they are still below the Bulls, Heat, and Celtics.

I guess it's cool for Knick fans to have a good team, but that's all they are. They aren't great and nobody is going to think they are championship ready all of a sudden.

Agreed. And it will be interesting to see what type of team they put together in the future. Based on past spending patterns and talent choices I am not expecting them to play in the title series anytime soon.

They are the 4th best team in the East. They're better than Orlando.

Alright... this I might be able to agree with. Might.

But Orlando's depth is hard to argue with.

Don't forget Orlando...

Teams that are better than the Knicks:
1. Boston
2. Miami
3. Chicago
4. Orlando

Probably better than Knicks:
5. Atlanta

Knicks are currently in 6th place in the east, and I don't see them being any better than the 5 teams above them. Even if they could play an entire season with Melo, I don't think they would be better, and they're supporting cast is absolutely fucked.

I think Otis Smith has turned Orlando into NY. A team that is very talented on paper but that's about it. They won't be a factor in the playoffs. Atlanta isn't better than the Knicks either. In the playoffs the rotation gets a lot shorter and right now the combination of Melo/Amare/Billups is superior to anything those teams have.

The Hawks need to make a move for Nash.

The Suns have to explore some sort of trade options for him. The team clearly needs to be blown up. If I were them I would try to deal Nash and Hill. I believe Carter is expiring after this season, trade your dinosaurs, sign a star, and rebuild. They already have a few decent pieces on the team.

Better than Miami or Chicago? Call me crazy but I think the Bulls can and will come out the East this year if healthy.

I think they're third behind Boston and Miami. Chicago would be 4th. I think any of those 4 teams could realistically come out of the East.

right. Suns clearly have incentive to move Nash

problem is what the Hawks would give up- Crawford striaght up would probably do it . salaries match and Crawford comes off the books this year so it Suns would save $$$....but you'd be losing your 6th man then

no other combination the Hawks have would really make sense.....Marvin Williams and Bibby would make the numbers work but who wants Williams for another 4 guaranteed years and Bibby for one more.

but other than the Lakers I can't see other contenders needing a PG

Why would Denver want to move Felton? I would consider him the most valuable piece Denver received in this whole deal.

The parade of allstars leaving the west for the east continues...

A team with The other Chaunce, Stoudemire, and Melo is 5th best in the east

if Paul ends up going to NY too, the East will officially be the new west. all the old West powers are fading anyway- Utah, Phoenix, Houston & Portland are all not as good as they have been in recent years. The only team that's really up and coming is OKC. Lakers and Spurs windows closing fast. East is very solid as least through #6
