care to give me some examples of any recent NBA champions whose team was built around a great PG?

Rajon Rondo was the most important piece the Celtics had in the NBA Finals the year they won. He is now a focal point of the team the last several seasons that has been able to compete each and every year.

And of course, Derrick Rose this year.

No he wasn't. He was important the year they lost to the Magic and last year. He was just a guy that first year.

The picks. I think Williams is a top 3/4 PG but I also think Harris is a top 10 PG. I don't think there is that big of a gap to trade away a top 3 pick and 2 more first round picks (that may be lottery picks) to move up a few slots. We're talking 6 points and 2 assist.

The Jazz will get New Jersey's first-round pick this year, which is not lottery protected and Golden State's first-round pick, which is partially protected, next year. That selection is top seven protected in 2012 and 2013 and top six protected in 2014. If Utah has not received the pick by the 2014 draft, then the Jazz will receive Golden State's own 2014 and 2016 second-round picks.

this says its 2 picks.....NJ won't necessarily have a top 3 pick.....

I was talking about Favors. I haven't seen anything that says they are protected.

are you trying to be obtuse or something?

i asked you if your opinion was because of Favors or the 2 picks . you said the picks. I countered and you said you were talking about Favors. wtf

so it's (very likely) a lottery pick this year, then a late lottery/mid 1st round pick next year. And Favors and Harris...I guess I don't see it as being that ridiculous but I also don't share your high opinion of Harris

When I said top 3 pick I was talking about Favors. If I'm giving up Harris and Favors then I'm keeping the picks. If I'm giving away the picks I'm keeping Favors. Personally I would have given up the picks and just kept Favors.

Most people don't. Just a couple years ago he was arguably the best young PG in the East and now even as a top 10 PG he is an afterthought.

Look at Games 1, 2, and 6 (the clincher). All wins. Now look at his stats on the two games they lost.

You're helping prove my point. They won when he played well and lost when he didn't.

Game 3 (L): Paul Pierce had a poor shooting game, making only two of his 14 field goal attempts. Kevin Garnett also had trouble shooting, finishing with only 12 points. Ray Allen was the only member of Boston's Big Three that scored over 13 points, with 25

Game 5 (L): For Boston, Pierce had a memorable 38 point effort, but outside of Allen (16 points) and Garnett (13 points and 14 rebounds) did not receive enough support from his teammates to clinch the championship at Staples

the answer might be that they lost when the Big 3 didn't play well......
