Why?

That seems like a dipshitty move for Boston.

why is it a bad move for Boston? They probably feel like they have the depth up front to move him plus they're getting back Kristic who is serviceable and they're getting a pretty nice bench guy in Green. i think it's a great move for them.

Dan Dernstein says it's a bad move. That's why.

:)

I agree Bagels. I think it's a great move for the Celtics. I believe getting Green is the best part of this deal. They're loaded. Wow!

Yeah, Green's a good swingman. I like his game. Boston will miss Perkins emotionally more than anything. He's been the work horse of their recently successful teams but like Bagels pointed out, they're pretty deep up front with Kristic, Shaq, and Jermaine (even Davis).

They now have another guy who can switch between the 2 and 3 positions and can relieve either Pierce or Allen without losing much. This is a straight-up playoff move. Boston just got even better, IMO.

yeah the only negative i can see is that Perkins was definitely a rough and tumble/enforcer kinda guy and Shaq and Jermiane aren't and Kristic definitely isn't

I think Shaq can be not having to worry about playing back to backs. They've beaten Miami twice without him too. This gives them an offensive threat and some much needed youth.

right that's a good point- they're getting younger too

at some point soon when the start rebuilding Green will be a nice player to have around

Honestly, this year's Celtics roster - at least on paper - may be better than the 2008 team that won it all.

Watching the Celtics game and I heard they got a 1st round pick in the deal too (Clippers).
