It's a money move but they could have gotten a lot more than that. Wallace is one of the best all around players in the league.

But yeah, this is an incredibly bad move. They seem to be playing well since Larry Brown was fired, and this just seems like they are waving the white flag for the season. Yes, I know they aren't title contenders, but for a team that isn't a big money maker, making the playoffs is important. They must be banking on Portland falling out of the playoff hunt in the next years (which could be possible) and getting some good first round picks in return.

Stephen Jackson is their best scorer but Wallace is one of the best all around players in basketball. That's why I called him the best. If fact if you look around the league you may only find a couple SF's that have a better all around game.
