They just completed their 11th straight 50 win season.

How big of a failure has this franchise been during this run? They've been near the top of their conference almost every year since the post Jordan era. You would think they could have gotten one title in this time. Defend your boys, Cairo.

I would love to defend them, but I can't. These guys have disappointed me so many times over the last several years, I can't even fathom it. With as much talent that has passed through there, it think it's downright deplorable that they only have an NBA Finals chokejob, and an even worse showing the following year in getting knocked off by the 8th seed Warriors to show for it.

The Mavericks are the 90s Atlanta Braves (only without a title). But it's cool...this team is gonna be blowed up soon anyway.

The Braves are a good comparison. Like OKC I would like to defend them, but really can't. I still love Dirk tho and hope somehow he can get a title. But I doubt it.

you've got to be kidding me

Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Shawn Marion, Erick Dampier, Brendan Haywood, Steve Nash, Michael Finley, Josh Howard.....just a few of the players he played with in his career. He's had a ton of help. if your comment was sarcastic and I'm oblivious i apologize

it was somewhat; i've heard that said about dirk, as like an excuse. i honestly think he's just not clutch or doesn't take over a game like he should. but some of those guys you listed either weren't in their prime or were past it when they played with him.

kind of like when people made an argument for AI when webber came to the sixers. webber was just collecting a paycheck by that point.
