Or why the fuck is this convo even necessary?

Anyone who wouldnt trade Luol Deng for Carmelo Anthony is completely ignorant and useless when it comes to an NBA opinion.

Jesus.... Even Thibs said he'd take Carmelo after Melo was traded to the Knicks.... Most coaches say the complete opposite.

To bring the thread back to topic:

I agree that Carmelo has been a consistenly better player than Luol throughout their respective careers...BUT, this year Luol has taken a giant leap in his all-around gameplay.

In my opinion, Carmelo is still better offensively (and I'd still trade for him), but Luol is now a better defensive player than Carmelo...again, at least this year. The playing field between the two is closer to being even than it ever was. Luol has gotten better, while Carmelo has remained the same player.
