the entire country outside of a few recalcitrant South Floridians will be in Dirk Von Skywalker and the Mav's corner against the Deathstar Heat.

Mavs in 7.

Dirk is Finals MVP.

Lebron is hurt in game 3 when Tyson Chandler delivers a picture perfect brain buster.

2005 NBA finals was very good IMO so none of this matters to me too much.

Just curious.... Do people consider this a boring matchup? I'm pretty fascinated by the potential of this series

I'm ready to go. Time for Dirk to right the wrongs of the 2006 Finals against the same team that beat him before.

I know Bagels is gone, but while he was here, he was the biggest anti-Dirk guy on the board. Always bringing up the first round exits and the Finals chokejob. I wonder how he feels right now.

He probably feels anxious and scared of when the next prison beatdown is going to take place.

I was always right there with him

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the mavs lose the past decade. I've always liked the spurs and knew Dirk didn't have that little extra. It was fun being right every year.

I said weeks ago this is very clearly not the same thing.

People love what lebrons doing at the end of games, and the clutch close games thing is officially dead. But dirk has been the clear cut MVP and most clutch player in the postseason. Lebron hasn't been nearly as flawless. Dirk's got ice in his veins, hate in his heart.

Dallas might lose this series but this time I can't imagine dirk being the reason

Part of me wants to see Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks bring Dallas their first NBA Championship in franchise history, not to mention the sight of ESPN/ABC's Stuart "Booyah Boy" Scott being on stage with NBA Commissioner David Stern reluctantly handing the Larry O'Brien Trophy to owner Mark Cuban. I can only imagine Cuban flipping Stern the bird once he accepts the trophy after everything the outspoken Mavs' owner has said about the Commish since Mark bought the team over a decade ago. The other part of me actually thinks that LeBron James wants to win his first NBA Championship and second for the Miami Heat franchise since they joined the league in 1988, especially after he and his Heat took Derrick Rose and the Bulls to school in the Eastern Conference Finals.

That being said, the Heat appear to be gelling at the right time, and Miami wins the NBA Championship in 6 games over Dallas. Shades of 2006, except the Heat have homecourt in this Final tipping Tuesday night. Factually speaking, Dallas had the homecourt in the '06 NBA Finals vs. Miami...It'll be the same outcome 5 years later.

I want Dallas to win, but I expect Miami to win.

It should be a competitve series, but I have to side with the team that has the best player in James, and think we'll get a rebound series from Wade.

Heat in 6 games.

I need the Mavs to show up big time. If they do what they did to the Lakers to the Heat it could be a sweep.

The keys to the series are Dirk and Dallas' 3 point shooting. The Mavs have a deeper bench and I don't think anyone from Miami matches up well with Dirk. He can score 40 points with only 15 shots. There is anyone on the Heat who can do that with the same amount of shots.

If bosh can keep up with dirk for the most part I think Miami will win

That's why I like Dallas. I think Kidd's gonna have a big series

Bosh cannot keep up with Dirk. Kidd is going to have a HUGE series matching up with Bibby and Chalmers. JJ is going to have a big series off the bench. The Mavs are significantly better than the Heat at 3 of the 5 starting positions. The Mavs are significantly better than the Heat on the bench. The Mavs have the better coach.

If Dallas hit's their 3 pointers, Miami won't beat them.

Dallas does have a better coach but i don't see it as a factor. This is one of those good series where each team would be worse off if the coaches switched benches.

People remember kc jones and the 86 celtics so until he establishes himself fans will assume the players are running the show.

Noone deserves a title, they are earned. Even so, how does Chris bosh deserve a title? This wasnt KG in Minnesota for 13 years. Bosh didn't do a damn thing for toronto and fled as soon as he was good enough to get max dollars. At least Vince was honest

I'm afraid the Heat might win. The Heat beat the Bulls not because Bosh decided to be an good NBA player instead of the Joe Besser of the Heat's Stooges trio, but because of Udonis Haslem. The three headed moron becomes even stronger with him in the lineup. I also expect D'Wade to step up his game and TheBron to be TheBron.

And of course, they'll get all the calls because The Association likes stars, and wants the team with the 3 big stars to get the title.

You're much better when you're on the muscle KS. I just don't like bosh. Everything you said is true and yet he missed the playoffs 5 of 7 seasons in a weak conference. You have to at least make the playoffs every year to even start being considered the franchise guy label he's falsely been wearing the past 7 years.

I was joking about Vince. He's my least favorite on court athlete ever maybe. You're right, he just sucks.

Do I have to be the reason here? The Heat in 5. Dallas plays no d and 3 stars beat 2. If the Heat handled Rose they sure and the fuck can handle Kidd.

Have you even watched Dallas this year? Part of the reason they are better than years past is they do play D now. And it just isn't Kidd, it is Dirk, Kidd, Marion, JT, JJ, Chandler, etc.
