To be fair, Dirk was in the locker-room before the echo of the buzzer faded away. Probably afraid for his life.

I think he didn't want to have to shake hands with the a-holes that made fun of him earlier in the series.

Really? I'd probably have a boner at the opportunity to look them dead in the face and cough on them both.

Great point! How did you come up with that?

I've heard he has been calling his family back in Germany right after each of these playoffs game this season. Tho didn't seem like he'd have had time to do that this time.

Yeah, agreed, sez to me the guy probably cared much more than some of his teammates.

Said to me they were mad they didn't get the championship they felt themselves entitled to.

Maybe Lebron thinks he's entitled, and when things don't go his way he retreats into a shell and doesn't give his all? But I don't think Wade or Bosh played or acted that way these playoffs.

Goddamn would love to be in the locker room to see the brothers reaction when Dirk busts out the Kraftwerk on the boombox.

That is just how Dirk does it. He does not showboat or want any attention, and I am sure he was overcome with a ton of emotion with finally getting over the hump.

This. Dirk came to Miami to win a title. He did, now he's leaving. Respect.

Erik Spoelstra has got to lose his job after this, right?

I doubt it. They won't be able to find a better one as a replacement and he's Wade's guy

If they fire Spoelstra, are they bringing in Pat Riley or Larry Brown, I see Spoelstra keeping his job because there's nobody to bring in.

Why would you fire Spoelstra, this Dallas team handed Phil Jackson his first ever playoff sweep. Mavs were working with a deeper, overall better team than Spoelstra had to work with. For what he had, and what he thought he had that turned out to be more frog than prince, n'mind King, Spoelstra did as well as any Heat fan could've hoped for--esp if you'd told them Lebron was gonna bitch-out again.

They should ask Lebron about Rashard Lewis and if that threw him off.

The Dallas Mavericks just won the NBA title. A team with no fan base, or talent ten years ago. First, I can make the joke about it being a Cubs/Sox combo. I'd rather acknowledge the success. Great job all around.

There was 1 year in the nineties, that the Mavs almost broke the record for losses, I think they had 11.

This is actually a good story, probably started to change when the Mavs got Kidd the first time, helped turn the team around, then got Cuban along with Nowitzki and the team started to take off.

It took awhile still for the Mavs to get a title, along with Nowitzki, had Nash and Michael Finley and made the Western Conference Finals and loss to the SPurs, then revamped the team and made the Finals and lost to the Heat in 06. Then the next year were the 1 seed and lost in the first round to the Warriors and it started to look like they may never get the title.

This year's playoffs, blew a big lead in Game 4 to the Trailblazers, when they could be in trouble, came back and won the next 2, swept the Lakers, and were about to be tied 2-2 with the Thunder and came back from down 15 in Game 4 to win that one and close out the series and win it in 5.

In the Finals series, it looked like the Mavs would be down 2-0, but came back in to win Game 2, then after a loss in Game 3, looked like Game 4 was going to be another loss, but came back in the 4th to tie the series. Lebron says lookout in Game 5 and the Heat lead by 4 with about 4 minutes and the Mavs go on a big run to win that one and close it out tonight to become NBA Champions.

Exactly right. Dirk has been the best player in the postseason by far, and Dallas certainly was the best team. They have been the best team since the beginning of the playoffs. In no way was this some sort of fluke series in which Miami just choked. Sure Lebron did to an extent but Dallas was going to win this series regardless.

Yes. He's still a bad head of the Cavaliers, even though the superstar that was handed to him was an asshat. If they want to be a leader, CEO, President, or team owner, they don't act like a jaded 15 year old girl when the main talent leaves.

Larry Brown?

It will be Riles, or no change. Spoelstra is just a figurehead anyway, so Riley coming down to coach would not make a difference.

There's something about Udonis Haslem that makes me want to see him lose.

I actually feel the opposite about him. I dislike most of the rest of the team.
