Anyone else read this thing? I just finished it last night and really enjoyed the whole book. Even though you'll natually disagree with many things written in the book, its obvious Simmons put in a ton of time and research into the book. He also has the most thoroughly anti-Wilt argument Ive heard yet. I love the constant digs at Wilt and Vince Carter. Overall Im really glad I bought the book.

I am pretty sure Douchebag put a shoutout for this back when it came out but I am too lazy to find it. I read the book and really enjoyed it. Surprisngly comprehensive and easy to read. Simmons lets a few of his (Len) Biases slip through but on the whole I would recommend it to anybody who likes basketball

Agreed. His little quips had me laughing every few pages also. "Your'e thinking.. there's a Jack Twyman section? Youre fuckin' a-right theres a Jack Twyman section."

One of the best sports books I've ever read.

Of course there's a Jack Twyman section. The guy was the best friend and teammate of a guy who was Magic or LeBron before there was a Magic or LeBron.

When you know everything about sports why waste your time reading a book?

Yeah, books fuckin' blow, man! All you old people can take your books and cram them up your Ataris. I don't have time to read books when I have to catch up on Ochocinco bowel-related Tweets. ROCK AND ROLL!

It's a terrific book, but it can't go unsaid that Simmons's particular brand of benign racism gets more and more disturbing as you go on, as he stops just short of saying that black people were bred to play sports.

Found this in a closet and was thumbing through it while drunk. Still a great book. Simmons used to be a good writer.

Still relevant today even though LeBron and some other players would now be higher on the list.

Just finished America's Game; good overview of the NFL evolution beginning in 1945.

That book was the last good thing Simmons did.
When my grandkids ask about Michael Jordan, I'll find the section on him in that book and have them read it.
