Blazers interim general manager Chad Buchanan confirms Portland has signed Kurt Thomas for two seasons

The Thomas deal has been confirmed. Meaning he'll be 58 by the time the contract runs out. Still 6 years younger than Greg Oden however.

First the Pac NorthWest loses the Sonics to OKC, now they're losing the Blazers to ineptitude. Sad day.

Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley says team will match the 4-year, $55M offer sheet from Houston on Marc Gasol.

In related news, the Bulls would like to resign Derrick Rose.

Hornets asking for E Gordon, Kaman, Bledsoe, Aminu and 2 1st round picks, sources say

Wow. Who's left on the Clip after that, CP3 and Blake?

If I'm Dell Demps I'd accidentally shit myself in the rush to accept that offer. And if David Stern vetoes that also than I'd hire Jason Statham to fuckin murder him.

Didn't you have him as a HoF'er a couple years ago?

So the NBA will decide to pick the Clippers as the winner in the Chris Paul sweepstakes. I don't think it takes much effort to say that the original deal was better.

Lamar Odom
Luis Scola
Kevin Martin
2 first round picks

is better than

Eric Gordon
Chris Caveman
Al-Farouq Aminu
Possible 1st round pick

I thought the Clips deal includes Bledsoe also? I'm not sure the original deal is better. Gordon, Bledsoe, and Aminu are all really young and have a ton if potential. Considering the Hornets won't be a contender until they can get or develop another player of Paul's caliber I'm not sure how useful Odom and Scola are to them.

Can't wait to hear my girlfriends reaction. That's her favorite player and she was mad as hell Dallas wasn't bringing him back and said she just hopes he goes to a good team that's not Miami.

I liked Kobe's reaction to the Odom trade. He came out and publicly said he was pissed about it. He should be to.

Yeah but it's the only time in 40 years (except maybe '06) the Clips will be relevant. They must be thrilled.

IMO the Hornets could have made the playoffs this year with the players they were getting in the original deal.

I agree but they weren't a real contender. Making the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed with a bunch of guys in their late twenties and then getting waxed by a contender doesn't really help them out much.

It sells tickets though. That's what they need to do. This latest trade makes them the Clippers lite

Per a source who has been briefed on NO-LAC negotiations, the Hornets have to choose between the Minnesota pick and Gordon. Can't have both.

That's tough. Top 5 pick or Gordon. I'd take Gordon. At the very least you have an above average starter who is really young.

Not really though. If they can't sell tickets making the playoffs with Chris Paul as their star why do you think they will with Odom as their star?

Which makes the deal worse if it's approved. Especially without Bledsoe.

There will be a lawsuit filed soon. Stern and the NBA are really fucking this whole process up. Does Stern want to be a GM too? It appears that the Hornets winning the trade isn't enough. Some team will have to give up every asset to get it approved.

My point is getting a group of players that will help you make the playoffs improves ticket sales more than getting a group of players that will have you in the lottery.

As reported elsewhere, Clippers have matched four-year, $43M offer sheet for RFA DeAndre Jordan, source says.

Nearly $11 mil/yr for Deandre Jordan.

He's not bad... This is a potential performance signing... Dude was taking all kaman's minutes last year.

The lockout sure solved all of the league's problems.

How does a guy like Kwame make anything over the league minimum?

Completely ridiculous. Brown is the poster boy for league minimum.

A one-year $7 million contract with Golden State boosts Kwame Brown's career earnings to $58,477,908.

This is why the terrorists hate us.

9/11 can be blamed on Eddy Curry and Kwame Brown.

The players should've had Kwame's agent negotiate the lockout. They probably would've ended up with 65% of the BRI.
