Never was a Kobe fan but looking back he will be remembered as one of the greats.
Guy was a beast in his prime. Not quite Jordan offensively but pretty damn good.

His teammates did not want the ball. Sometimes...it looked like they ran away from a Kobe's ball handling. It was his night. It wasn't so much him being selfish as the Lakers forcing him to take every shot...making sure he goes out with a memorable game. It was 'fun.' The type of fun I think the ASG tries to deliver and fails with each season.

The fact that he ended up leading them to the win (albeit with some referee assistance) ... pretty cool.

I'm sure it was and I admit it's a nice story, but I'm just hating on him. I think he's quit on his team before and openly chased individual accolades over team success in the mid-2000s.

Storybook ending.

Onetime great player. Been horrible for two years while collecting $48M. Team is awful. Last place in the western conference. Last game of his career after a season of phoning it in and collecting stupid retirement gifts on his final "tour" of the league. Gets a tough match-up against a non-playoff team with nothing to play for. Decides passing is not something he wants to do in his last game and puts up 60 on 50 shots in a win (provided by the NBA).

Magical.

This is a game that I believe you have to watch. At the very least watch the 2nd half or the final 7 mins or so. It was a great finish by the greatest players of his era.
