In five games this WS both teams have a combined 69 hits.

In game five of the 1982 WS the Cardinals and Brewers combined for 26 hits.

Would like to see baseball look more like 1982 that 2022.

I know hits don't always lead to runs, but I prefer a low scoring baseball game to a high scoring one. Game 1 was nice, but in Game 5, every run was like a body blow. In those low scoring games, every time a team gets a runner on base, the tension starts to kick in. You don't feel that in those high scoring affairs.

I'm sure this isn't true, but it felt like most playoff games when I was a kid were heart pounding and low scoring.

I think you and I are roughly the same age and I remember the same thing. It seemed like the runs would just dry up and it was almost a different game. I was a teen and a young adult in the 90's and I remember the same thing happening then as well. It seems like things turned a corner at some point in the 00's, but I don't particularly trust my memory on any of it.

Seems the same for me as well, the quality of the games were higher and with much more variety. But in fairness the games had better broadcasters until McCarver signed on and were much bigger events.

This series has been better than I expected. Game 1 was awesome. Game 2 was probably the most boring. Phillies mashed in game 3. Astros no hit game 4. Game 5 was great; McCormick’s catch was a marquee, memorable moment.

Aside from the teams involved I’m not sure there’s much to dislike about this WS.

Let it go. It was 5 years ago. Also, Bonds and Clemons are HOFers.

It seems like a throwback because of pitching--not just good pitching, but we're not seeing pitchers lifted halfway through the third.

Starting pitching is what I remember from the 80s and 90s. Eventually, unless you're Reggie, if they're on, they're gonna quiet you.

Everything you just said is true. Loved that catch. Kirby Puckett's was better, but only because he nearly doubled up whomever was on first. Obviously Willie Mays and that Polish guy from the '69 Mets, but that's before my time.

That was one of the more pathetic moments in professional sports…maybe ever.

And it passed without comment or analysis from the announcers.

The guys on the radio were befuddled.

The gloves are admittedly weird. He looks like he just strangled somebody to death in the clubhouse. All that being said, he's taken a lot of turd teams to the playoffs. I'm happy to see him finally break through.

Based on that alone I could be convinced the Phillies threw it.

Schwarber should be run out of baseball.
