Nobody is going to buy that team and keep it in Oakland. MLB should of let them move to San Jose.

Blame the Giants. I don't know if they got San Jose included in their territory when they threatened to move from Candlestick a few decades ago, but they are the ones who wouldn't let the A's move there.

I think MLB underestimated the situation in Oakland like the NFL. They should of told the Giants to go to hell. Their claim to San Jose wasn't even dubious it was bullshit. I've been to a lot of games in Oakland they have some good fans. They have to accept some of the blame though for electing that city council. Nobody is going to a buy a team having to deal with those morons.

Didn't think it was possible a few weeks ago but the Royals are challenging the A's for worst team.

Arizona D'backs were on the road in 3 different time zones the last 3 days (Milwaukee, Washington DC, and San Francisco).

De La Cruz hits for the cycle. Kid's been up only 2 weeks in the majors

Reds have won 12 in a row

Reds doing it right with all young guys learning to win. Votto back this week and hits like 3 bombs in 2 games.

Their ballpark sold out every night now.

Ok, now I feel dumb. I turned it on after the Dodgers game ended and it was 9-0 and I figured not to bother and turned it off.

If I had known they would score 14 more runs, I would have kept it on to watch the carnage.

Hunter Renfroe: 5-5
Mickey Moniak: 5-5
it's the 5th time since 1901 a team had 2 players go 5-for-5 or better in the same game, joining:
9/6/2013 DET Andy Dirks, Omar Infante
8/16/2005 SF Deivi Cruz, Pedro Feliz
7/17/1978 SF Darrell Evans, Terry Whitfield
5/22/1925 CIN Pete Donohue, Curt Walker

Largest wins since 1900:
8/22/2007 Rangers: +27, 30-3
6/8/1950 Red Sox: +25, 29-4
Today Angels: +24, 25-1
7/7/1923 Cleveland: +24, 27-3

the Angels’ 21 runs in the 3rd + 4th innings are tied for the most in a 2-inning span in a game in MLB history, with:
6/6/1894 Pirates, also in the 3rd + 4th
only other team with even a 20-run such span: 6/26/1890 Philadelphia Quakers, in 6th + 7th

the Angels’ 23 runs thru 4 innings are the 3rd-most thru the 1st 4 innings of a game in MLB history, behind only:
8/25/1922 Cubs: 25
6/6/1894 Pirates: 24

Nevin had a rough weekend. He might be a lousy manager. Unfortunately in today's MLB its hard to know who really makes the decisions.

I've adopted the Angels as my second team this year. I think you're looking at your first playoff appearance in about a decade. Be happy.

Yankees Domingo German tossed a perfecto last night in Oakland.

Chalk up another game that's better than Wood's 20K game.

I remember a game back during the '98 Cubs playoff run when Terry Mulholland air-mailed the ball over Grace's head and the Astros won in a walk-off.

You can't acquire grace. You either have grace, or you don't.

My understanding is a lot of ladies acquired Grace in the mid-90s.

They have a weird fan base, they don't fill the place up even when they are leading the division. The ballpark location is inconvenient unless you work at USDOT headquarters down the street, and nobody trusts that their subway car won't break down mid ride.

Baseball was built for summer and summer built for baseball. People will always be in a mood for a summer picnic. The game itself though is deteriorated and TV ratings will tank, have tanked, and will continue to tank. The joy of less than 3 hr games will wear off. Probably already has.
