Day 2 of the draft. This is the nightmare day for area scouts. The day that keeps them up at night. You feel good that no one is going to take a guy on day 1 that you didn't have in but day 2 is another story. A team can have a guy higher on their board because they had a better look than you or god forbid a guy you never even saw. After round 10 it can be explained but 3-10 is the danger zone. Those guys have no skin in the game so they have no reason to lie and they're more than happy to tell you if a guy is a beast in the weight room or if he's a dog. When you get to this level work ethic is a separator. They're all talented players but the guys who work the hardest are the ones most likely to separate themselves from the pack. |

Reds take Ryan Campbell from UIC. Senior sign. One pitch pitcher. Has a good sinker but nothing else to go with it. Not a great AA. Hope he can develop a 2nd pitch and be a matchup bullpen guy. |
