Infield fly rule is basic stuff. Sure, little leaguers panic when the ball is dropped, but usually they grow out of it.

The Washington Nationals, who have luminaries such as Ildemaro Vargas and CJ Edwards on their team, have a better record than the New York Mets. Hate to see it....

for all you players out there, Astros overs are 16-1 on Mondays this year. It's not something I'd rely on with a huge play, but it's worth just making an auto play each week for the rest of the season. It's been a cash machine

Well he’s pretty much shit the bed since he went there . He’s probably cost himself some money with the garbage performances but never underestimate the stupidity of major league baseball GM’s.

Sox might be awful, but at least they picked up some future disappointing pieces at the deadline....

The Angels traded away some prospects, and will get nothing for Ohtani. They probably could have got a teams entire farm system for him at the deadline.

they were kind of damned if they do damned if they don’t though. They had to show Ohtani they were willing to go for it and by doing so maybe he would be convinced to sign there offseason . It blew up on them. The other option was just blow everything up and trade him for prospects. In hindsight they didnt make the right choice.

Did the Angels have a singular voice in the front office being held accountable?

They weren't going anywhere. No pitching. They never have pitching. Certainly Lopez and Giolito weren't going to put them over the top. They had 3 good teams to contend with. It was a terrible decision not to trade Ohtani.

That was a short and disastrous tenure for Giolito with Anaheim. But the big news is Cleveland still thinks it has a shot at the division.

That's how Fergie Jenkins threw 289 or more innings seven years in an eight year span. Including 325 and 328. A 10 bWAR pitcher in 1971, that kind of performance today would be $45M a year easy. Fergie didn't give a fuck about giving up a home run once a start and he only struck out between 7-8 guys most starts. But he could induce weak contact and just dared people to put the ball in play.

yeah, no surprise. one of taillon's glaring faults. his waste pitch(es) are so uncompetitive that when he's good enough to get ahead 0-1, 1-2, he quickly becomes bad enough for 2-2/3-2 and then he has to throw one in.

Braves showed who's the cream of the crop this past weekend at the Dodgers.

This doesn't help much.

in basketball or football i can bet an under, but psychologically i cannot in baseball.

you can theoretically get an over in the 1st inning, with an under i have to sweat out the entire game to the last out.

also it's really fun to get an over early, then go back and double or triple dip.

Giolito first player ever to give up 8+ runs in a game for three different teams in one season.

Verlander's victory over Scherzer the other day probably put him over the hump for the HoF.
