I don't disagree with this, but there is no way Castro is going to be cheaper than Yolmer.

No thanks on Castro. We already have a defensive butcher at SS.

He hasn't been a regular at SS since he was a Cub. 2B/3B and can play SS now and then.

But with Moustakas going to the Reds, I think Milwaukee is a likely landing place for him. Hiura is bad defensively at 2B and may end up playing some 1B along with Thames. Plus Shaw is a bit of a mess. He'd be a good #7 hitter for them.

Terrible signing by the Reds. Career OBP of .310. Career OPS of .751. Too much money, too many years.

Agreed. He's lucky he's useful on defense but 4 yrs at age 31? No thanks.

Moose has also averaged 33.6 HRs over the last three seasons, and 31.2 over his last five full seasons (he was hurt and missed most of 2017). That is quite a bit of pop from the second base position in a park that is pretty easy to hit homers in.

Don't get me wrong, his HR and RBI totals will look good. The rest of his offensive stats are terrible. Career .252 avg., doesn't walk much. No thanks.

Moose has a doctor in Germany.

So much for the Sox telling him they might be interested later in the off season.

Wheeler gone too! Lol. Maybe Hahn can get in on the Cole sweepstakes.

$118m for Wheeler is insane. He's never finished in the top 10 in Cy Young voting, and he'll turn 30 early in the season next year.

We covered this in the Sox section that you often frequent.

$18 million for a 36 year old pitching coming off of an injury is crazy.

Unless you want to give a deal like that to Brandon Morrow. Then its ok I guess :D

Why did Seattle trade him is my question. That team has made a lot of strange moves.

They had three catchers (Navarez, Murphy, and Nola), and Navarez was the worst one defensively.

Plus, Jerry DiPoto can't help himself, he has already traded over 200 players in just a few seasons as GM.

Price for Cole just went up.

These contracts are crazy (about $1m per start). I will say, however, that Scherzer is the one guy who has truly earned his contract so far.

The Yankees did this to themselves before when they extended Alex Rodriguez.
Good for them.

7 for $245 for Rendon.

Good for him, but damn that's dumb for Anaheim with no pitching.

Helluva player. Reports are they are going after MadBum/Ryu or Keuchel next after losing out on Cole.

Of course they have to outbid/out recruit the White Sox.

The Rendon signing leaves Tommy LaStella without a job. I hope to hell he doesn't end up in Milwaukee.
