Reds downed the Phillies 1-0.

Almora scored the winnin' run in the bottom of the 9th. Almora went 0-1 with 3 walks in the game. A very odd line. Almora is havin' a decent year. Nobody talks about him as one of the 2016 ex-Cubs, but he's playin' pretty much everyday.

On the same day, Votto finally gave up and will have surgery for his rotator cuff. Out for the season.

Donaldson pulled a David Bote last night and hit a GRAND SLAM in the bottom of the 10th, down 3, with 2 outs, to win it.

That's amazing. Nobody's talkin' about it but that's one of the few times in MLB history that's ever happened.

Bote's was especially unique in that it was a 3-2 count.

Yankees desperately needed this one to avoid a sweep. Chapman gave up a 3-run double in the top of the 10th. A dribbler down the right field line. The look on his face was priceless.

They also lost tonight at home to Toronto. This team is going thru their annual swoon of not hitting.

Firing Woodward made no sense, except the current GM didn't hire him. The team is shit, unlike Baltimore their farm system is shut, and their only saving grace is that the Angels are in their division and are a bigger and more expensive dumpster fire with a worse minor league system (notoriously awful for at least the last decade).

The Angels have 100 million to spend next off-season and the Trash Pandas are one of the top teams in the minors. The last 3 drafts have been good IMO. Also I'd be careful with prospect rankings... Adell was the top prospect in baseball and he has coordination issues and can't track a baseball...

Didn't sound like the Padres fans are liking Hader too much currently after last night.

I think they may have ‘05 Sox vibes. They’re just bored and will turn it on late in the year.

Lose tomorrow and they will have won 3 games in 3 weeks. At that pace, they have 6 or 7 more wins in them. Hell, let's call it 8 and they end up 81-81

Listened to CBS sports radio a guest said each last 15 years the top ranked MLB farm system team made it to the playoffs in a couple of years.

My guess is that list is dominated by the Dodgers, Cardinals, and maybe the Rays.

Nobody's talkin' about it, but losin' Carpenter has killed them. They started this losing streak around the time he went down. He's a dynamic player. Hard to believe he was picked up off the bus station. Also, they havent had Stanton in the lineup. He's comin' back soon. He should help back up Judge in the lineup.

Yanks lead 2-1 in the 6th today, Toronto is tough.

Adam Cimber took the loss at NYY today.

Adam Cimber has 56 RELIEF appearances this year, NO STARTS, and is 9-5.

52 innin's, 56 appearances, and he has 14 fuckin' decisions. That's gotta be on pace for a record. I remember Lee Smith once went 9-9 but in those days he would pitch like 100 innin's.

Rodon so far tonight. Six innings 0 runs on 3 hits, 9ks. It's gonna suck next year when he signs with the flubs.

I'll be interested to see what his market looks like. He's a guy I'd prefer to pay a bigger number per year on a shorter term. Give him something like 55 million for 2 years.

Should have been a double, but typical Latino had to admire it for 10 seconds in the box instead of running

MLB should be promoting the hell out of that kid like yesterday.

The teams being in control of their TV rights hurts them in certain ways, and they just really don't have a national presence on TV. Ratings are up but when you show the Red Sox and Yankees every game in makes it hard to broaden your horizons.

That reminds me of Buck O'Neil's quote about Bo Jackson.

Always reminds me of rating young baseball players. Watch out for footwork and balance, then listen for both pitchers and guys at the plate.
