Harper gets a lot more love and attention but Trout is pretty much better at everything else and its not even close

I dont think thats even close to true anymore. Maybe befoe this year. But Trout is all over the place now.

Trout also has a year of pro experience and age on Harper right now.

Quote:
Ozzie Guillen's epic and pedantic fuss over the amount of pine tar on Bryce Harper‘s bat on Sunday was perhaps the highlight of the weekend. The Nationals accused Ozzie of trying to intimidate the 19-year-old Harper. Ozzie said Harper was being “unprofessional,” while seemingly becoming the first person to make a big stink over pine tar since Billy Martin. But, come Tuesday, everything was all forgiven, thanks in part to a prank that helped bring levity to the conflict.

Not too long after Ozzie made his fuss, the Nationals felt like getting under the Marlins’ skipper’s skin even more. Nats first baseman Adam LaRoche had Harper, without knowing LaRoche’s intentions, sign a bat for him, after which LaRoche inscribed, “To my hero, Ozzie, love you,” next to the autograph. The Nats then smeared pine tar all over the bat and had it delivered to Guillen.

If you thought Guillen flipped his lid in another one of his patented hissy fits, you’d be mistaken. He actually loved it.

“It was funny,” Guillen said, according to MLB.com. “I’ve got a few friends on their side. All those guys were making fun of me. I found out later they made the kid sign the bat. They put the rest.”

Guillen went on to clarify that, despite what happened on Sunday, he’s got nothing but love for Harper.

“To make this thing clear, I don’t have anything against the kid,” Guillen said. “I don’t. Whatever happened, happened. Whatever I say, I say. Whatever my reaction was, it was. But I think this kid is going to be good for the game. No doubt. This kid is very good. We need players like that to come out and play the game right. That’s good. I think what he did, maybe he did because he’s a kid. I hope he learned from that.”

Somebody got mad at somebody else. The problem got resolved. Now everybody loves each other again. It’s like an episode of “Full House.”

I think you are too far in the forest to see the trees. As a casual fan I hear Harper's name way more often than Trout. It's not even comparable. It reminds me of how much more often I would hear Rubio's name in comparison to Kyrie Irving even though Irving is clearly the superior player up to this point.

Really? Every time I hear one name, it seems they bring up the other.

I like it, The Bird Magic of MLB. Came up on the same day.

Whenever I hear Trout's name, I usually hear Harper's. The inverse is not true.

I think the Kyrie/Rubio comparison is fitting.

He destroyed his 16th and 17th homeruns tonight. Junior hit 16 as a 19 year old. The record for most home runs by a teenager is 24. Bryce has a chance to get there.

Good for him. He has zero chance of being the NL ROY.

Trout looks all juiced up, Harper looks like a natural and he is a few years younger..and Soto won ROY and he blows..one year means nothing..Harper will have a much better career then any of these guys.

I love this kid. I really hope he isn't on anything, and we're watching one of the great players of all time. Punking the Cubs isn't hard right now, but that entire sequence was awesome.

Just hustled out a triple after Jackson was dogging it to the ball...then scored on and infield grounder to the pitcher...best 19 year old player to ever play the game.

That was a stupid play. There is going all out and then there is stupidity.

Rowand used to do the same thing.

Many guys go all out and rob homeruns regularly without getting their face broken.

I know sometimes shit happens, but he should have known to pull up

At least Rowand made the catch when he broke his nose.

Harper just plain forgot where he was. I agree, it was pretty stupid on his part.
