Higher strike zone and pitchers will be able to announce an intentional walk and allow the runner to take his base, without having to throw the 4 pitches out of the strike zone. Don't like the strike zone change. Trying to help the hitters with the change But the ball at the bottom of the knee is a hell of a lot easier to hit than a fastball at the top of the strike zone. I do like the intentional pass rule change though.

are they giving hitters back the 3 inches off the plate Greg Maddux took from them?

They can't give the strike at the top of the zone. With how hard pitchers throw today it would be disastrous. No one can catch up to that without completely selling out for it.

Somewhere, Corey Patterson is screaming "See, I knew I should have been swinging at those nose-high fastballs! They're really supposed to be strikes!!!"

they are moving the bottom of the zone back to above the knees and not below the knee as was changed in 1996 in response to the explosion in scoring. was easier than banning roids I guess. now that all the pitchers are on PEDs too they can move it back up.
