The top ten picks are secured. The Sox pick 12 and Cubs 30 but that will likely change when team sign QO players. It's Hunter Greene's world. We're just living in it.

1. Minnesota Twins
2. Cincinnati Reds
3. San Diego Padres
4. Tampa Bay Rays
5. Atlanta Braves
6. Oakland Athletics
7. Arizona Diamondbacks
8. Philadelphia Phillies
9. Milwaukee Brewers
10. LA Angels

Just don't let Kenny near the draft. We don't need any 2 sport 1st rd picks.

You should be more worried about Hahn giving the pick away for another 30+ year old overpaid stopgap.

The only way Hahn can give this pick up, is signing some type A, FA. I can not see them doing that. In fact, might be the opposite.

This should be a pretty good draft. College hitters are down but that's normal. College pitchers are good though a little top heavy. High school is absolutely stacked with both hitters and pitchers.

RHP Hunter Greene (6'4"205) is the best player in the draft. He's a 2 way high school player but I have no idea how you keep that arm off the mound. It's clean, easy and up to 98 with a hammer and feel.

OF Jordan Adell (6'3" 205) is another 2 way high school guy but I think he's a position guy. His combo of speed (6.3 60), power and ability to play a plus center field is too good to pass up. He does have a lot of swing and miss but the upside as an everyday guy is way too high.

Other top guys are OF Jaren Kendall (Vandy), RHP Alex Faedo (Florida), RHP Tanner Houck (Mizzou) RHP Kyke Wright (Vandy), C JJ Schwarz (Florida), LHP Brendan McKay (Louisville), RHP Alex Schreff (Prestwood HS) Nasty stuff, SS Mark Vientos (Flannigan HS), 1B Alejandro Toral (Archbishop Mac HS) dude can really swing it, RHP Tanner Burns (Decatur HS) My Guy!, RHP Hagen Danner (Huntington HS),RHP Hans Crouse (Dana Hill HS), SS Brady McConnell (Merritt Island HS), LHP Sam Weatherly (Howell HS)

You literally just posted the other day that the Sox should go after Curtis Granderson.

They literally don't have to give up a draft pick to acquire Granderson, dipshit.

Best analyst they have. Hopefully he can do pregame, post game, and color during the games.

In recent days, he has said Granderson and Rajai Davis would be good fits for the Sox.

Qualifying offers are due within 5 days of the conclusion of the world series. I think the QO is set at 17M for next year. I'd assume most of your 30 year old stop gaps are safe from QO's though.

I was talking about the draft, which is Keyser's area of expertise.

I think Fowler is the perfect fit for the Sox as he will not be issued the QU by the Cubs (per a personal agreement, I believe), his market is pretty well established and he can move Eaton to the preferred two hole in the order and RF defensively.

Sox with two high OBP guys in front of Abreu would be nice.

They should target one of the HS bats. Jordan Adell, Mark Vientos, Brady McConnell, Connor Uselton. Maybe Alejandro Toral. Guys down there absolutely love him. He was good but not great on the circuit and a HS 1B has to really hit. I mean they have to really really hit and he just hasn't hit like that though guys down there think he will. There's a midget in CA named Nick Allen who does nothing but hit. Not sure if you can use the 12th pick on him but that little shit hits everything hard.

It doesn't matter because they're gonna take a college guy and most likely an arm. Faedo, Wright and Houck will be long gone so they'll chose between LHP Brendan McKay, RHP JB Bukauskas or RHP Tristan Beck. McKay is the guy. He probably has the highest floor in the draft. He's a Quintana type. Not flashy but he'll move thru the system fast and be a damn good pitcher for a long time.

Well I think the Sox fan consensus is that you can rebuild and win at the same time, which is of course a shot at the way the Cubs rebuilt. So sign away!

I think he's in that next group after Faedo, Wright and Houck. He's a pitchability lefty who can really spin it so a team could take him in the top 10. That's the guy the Sox should target if he's still on the board.

This might get me started on my mock top 10.

The draft order is set. Three teams have multiple 1st round picks. The Blue Jays (22 and 28) the Rangers (26 and 29) and the Cubs (27 and 30). Still can't believe the Sox were able to move up a spot to 11.

1. Minnesota Twins
2. Cincinnati Reds
3. San Diego Padres
4. Tampa Bay Rays
5. Atlanta Braves
6. Oakland A's
7. Arizona Diamondbacks
8. Philadelphia Phillies
9. Milwaukee Brewers
10. Los Angeles Angeles
11. Chicago White Sox
12. Pittsburgh Pirates
13, Florida Marlins

Go on with your bad self.

LHP Brendon Little (St College of Florida) sat 92-95 with a plus curveball and improved changeup in his 2nd start of the season. 5 IP 2 H 1 ER 2 BB 10 K's

Little is a North Carolina transfer who is considered a late 1st rounder but can move himself into the top half if he continues to throw like this.

Post subject:  Re: 2017 MLB Draft

LHP Brendan McKay was brilliant in his first start of the season sitting 90-93 t 94 with a plus curveball. He also went 2-3 at the dish with a jimmy jack. 6 IP 4 H 0 ER 0 BB 9 K

RHP JB Bukauskas was also very good in his debut against a good Kentucky team sitting 92-96 with a wipeout slider at 84-87. He's undersized with lots of effort and his mechanics scare the hell out of me but the dude has nasty shit. 6 IP 3 H 0 ER 1 BB 10 K

Post subject:  Re: 2017 MLB Draft

Vandy OF Jeren Kendall went 0-4 against UIC today with 4 punchies. Kendall has struck out 11 times in 28 AB's this year. He's a consideration for 1-1 but making consistent contact is a major problem for him.

UC Irvine DH/?? Keston Hiura blasted his 3rd home run and is hitting .480. Hiura might be the best college hitter in the country but a serious elbow injury limits him to only DH'ing. It's going to be tough to draft a guy in the top half of the first round if you're not sure what position he can play.

Post subject:  Re: 2017 MLB Draft

Kyle Wright got knocked around again last night. He's yet to have a good outing this season and they haven't even started conference play. 5 IP 6 H 3 ER 2 BB 8 K

JB Bukauskas threw the shit out of it again sitting 92-95 with a wipeout slider at 85-88. 7 IP 6 H 1 ER 1 BB 9 K

Tanner Houck had his first good start of the season against UIC.

Alex Faedo threw it good in what was pretty much a bye week against Columbia.

Brendan McKay missed his start with an abdominal strain. It's not considered serious.

Keston Hiura hit another bomb.
