Have to give Astros top two picks (not even top 50 picks) and $2M for them ripping off all their prospect info for almost three years.

Cards are like teflon.

Actually, the Astros were victims of "hacking" the same way the DNC was a victim of "hacking" by the Russians. Through their own stupidity. The Astros' employee was a former Cardinals employee and created the same user ID and password as he had used in St. Louis. The Cardinals staffer who got busted simply logged in using the guy's old credentials. It was wrong, but it wasn't some sophisticated attack.

Bernstein and Goff had a St. Louis reporter on yesterday, and she sounded great and had informed responses to all of the B&G's dopey questions. Bernstein referred to Metheny as a "complete idiot" several times and she didn't take the bait, while still being able to convey that he's been justly criticized for some of his handling of players.

She also said the Cardinals are doing a more thorough education of their Dominican players to protect them from some of the dangers of wealth (such as don't bring fancy cars to a country with poor infrastructure and be careful flaunting wealth), whereas Dan's answer was that MLB should offer to build new highways and hospitals for those countries.

I came away feeling like she would make a great host on WSCR.

Tweet that to JDC to show we are not biased.

I think the whole story is more embarrassing for the Astros than the Cardinals. I don't have a problem with the punishment as far as the loss of draft picks by the Cardinals, but moreso it's somewhat unfair for the Astro's competitors in the AL West. The hit rate on late 1st-round/early 2nd draft picks is low enough that it probably won't make a huge difference, but the Astros could definitely wind up with an extra asset that their competitors will not.
