welp hey, since i didn't see a thread for "general baseball meanderings" yet i figured i'd make one cuz lord knows it'll come in handy during the year.... let's begin!

20:17 <+ginbot> CWS 1 @ SD 0 - B3 :: Triple :: Yoan Moncada triples (1) on a sharp line drive to right fielder Hunter Renfroe. Tim Anderson scores.

so hey, is ^^^^that^^^^ a score update that could essentially be an all-star-game score update within ~5yrs or so, or is the "tim anderson" part of the deal what the british would call "a bit much" ??

otherwise, uhhh, it sure sounds like david price's elbow might be what the spanglish call "el fuckedo" --- raise your hands if you're sure glad that "the mighty mighty coo" didn't go out and drop ~200mil on a big ol reunion between david price & joe maddon; man, potential huge injury here notwithstanding, i couldn't fathom spending that much $$$ on a pitcher who's pretty much consistently proven that he absolutely sucks in the playoffs [whether it's that he physically wears down by october or whether it's a case of mental midgetude, the guy just can't be counted on to be anything other than ~4.50ERA-at-best in the playoffs-- not worth anywhere close to what he's getting

THAT SAID, call it a hunch that boston will be just fine, even without david price all season long 8) 8) 8)

So MadBum tosses a perfecto for 6 innings , hits 2 dingers and Giants bullpen loses it . Just like last year .

Rougie goes yard in his AB of the season. He might be my favorite player to watch. Dude takes a hack and he has a hell of a right cross.

He's unbelievable. I don't think there's a player who has gotten so much better in such a short period of time. Three years ago he was a freshman nobody at Arkansas and now he's on the verge of superstardom. He's a great story.

He was a fantastic athlete coming out of college and continues to get better. The best play he made today was on a fly ball that hit off of the wall, he kept a runner from scoring by the way he played it.

Watched the Indians / Rangers last night. Indians are scary good. Barring injury they're going to be tough to beat

Syndergaard looked spot on. That 93mph slider breaking left [away from RHB low and in to LHB] was a total "fuck you" pitch if I ever saw one b4 (ask Kendrys Morales! #AmericanWoman steez) and uhhh I'm hoping that the blister at the top of his finger is just BS to justify pulling him out "early" after 86 pitches of 6IP 5H 0ER 0BB 7K cuz ever since D-Murphy left the team to miss opening day for the birth of his first child to open 2014 (and Mets fans gave em shit for it) they've been keen to use light/phantom injuries as an excuse to keep dumbass fans from tripping on them too hard for, example, not pushing Thor past 100+ pitches on opening day. #ThisAintADustyBakerBallclub you know what I'm saying?

yeah, the Indians look like they might win 100 games. That Lindor GS wasn't surprising whatsoever

Syndergaard is throwing a 94 mph slider and a 90 mph change. That's not even human.

2HR today for Trey "Boom Boom" Mancini. i saw this kid in ST and thought "man, this kid looks the part. look what buck [showalter] did for Chris Davis and now Mark Trumbo and this kid's certainly on the right team to come good..." #WhyOhWhyDidntIDraftHimInTheSandlot?!?!?! #YallForgotAboutTrey (i'm making a killing with the rhymes today, must be the wannabe rapper in me, huh?)

Conforto hit another piss missle. Terry Collins finally got his head out of his ass and started playing him everyday. Impossible to believe it took this long.

Yeah they are. Going to make for a real interesting deadline if teams like the Mets and Blue Jays don't get back in the race.

Sale threw one behind Machado in his first AB. His third AB Machado hit one 9 miles. This feud isn't going away anytime soon. And Sale still looks awful in a Red Sox jersey.

Yeah, trout out for a couple months too... The division is getting buried by them already, still they need to pick up Quintana for depth IMO.
