I heard a little bit of him on Parkins and Spiegel earlier. I laughed at Law getting defensive when Spiegel justifiably called him on the book coming off as smug. He said "there's no way in the world someone could read this book and think it's taking a condescending or patronizing tone." Here's the subtitle of the book:

The Story behind the Old Stats That Are Ruining the Game, the New Ones That Are Running It, and the Right Way to Think about Baseball

 I would also argue that if anything is "ruining" the game it's the "new" stats that have glorified the walk and increased the length of games as guys go up to take, take, take pitches. I don't know about you, but I never bought a ticket to watch some guy walk.

Do you buy tickets to watch a team win?

Only if it's a pitcher doing the winning.

If walks help you win, expect to see batters try to get more walks. As soon as they stop helping you win, they'll stop trying to get walks. Salaries are moving over to the new stats as well, so I would expect to see more of it.

Is that what you think a picther's win does? Give him all the credit for the win?

Apparently he's like MANY who buy a ticket so they can sit there and complain about how long they've "had" to sit there, as though they've suddenly found themselves as some conscripted North Korean assembly.

You must be confusing me with someone else. I've never complained about the length of a ball game. But the fact is, if the Millennial fan is staying away from baseball because "the games are too long" or it's "too slow" or "too boring", then basing offenses on the walk certainly isn't helping. And replay is just a fucking travesty.
