25 years old. Lifetime .308 hitter. He steals bases, hits a lot of home runs, and plays great defense. This is his 7th season with the Angels but only 1 playoff appearance. Swept 3-0 by the Royals in the 2014 ALDS. Trout becomes a free agent in 2021. A 41-year-old Albert Pujols will still be stealing money ($30 million) from the Angels in 2021.

Do you keep the best player in the game because he's the best player in the game or do you trade him now for someone's entire farm system?

Trade him to the Cubs for Baez and Almora...maybe a Rk ball pitcher too. Seems fair.

He may end his career as the GOAT. Obviously a long, long way to go but the start to his career has been good enough to warrant that kind of thought.

I wouldn't trade him for anything. You could offer me an entire 25 man roster and I'd turn it down.

The guy is unbelievable.

Lowest WAR in Major League Baseball:

5) Chicago White Sox 6.8 WAR
4) Mike Trout 6.3 WAR
3) Miami Marlins 5.9 WAR
2) Kansas City Royals 4.2 WAR
1) Baltimore Orioles 3.5 WAR

It's insane that Mike Trout is as good as he is, playing in Los Angeles (sort of), and still relatively obscure. He should be pushed to the moon. He should be worshiped like LeBron is.

He’s a rare quiet unassuming superstar who just keeps getting better and better. It’s reached the point to where he’s simply taken for granted.

I thought it was on Mully and Hanley the other day but someone mentioned that he has never gone more than 2 games in a row in his career without
taking at least one base in a game.

According to Rick, he's not that good because he hasn't won a championship.

If the Angels trade Mike Trout before July 31 the year he becomes a free agent, the entire Angels fan base will put a hit on Arte Moreno.

The Cubs would have to start with Bryant, Schwarber, Almora, and Caratini. And that still may not be a fair trade.

Is Trout a FA this year? I thought he signed a 6 year extension a few years ago.

Your post makes no sense though. That trade is ridiculous for a half year of control of Trout even with an extension in place. Bryant won’t be part of that.

I would start with Baez, Schwarber, Happ, and Caratini.

Sorry. Any trade for Trout would start with Bryant. Then add Contreras, Baez, Schwarbs, Happ, and keep going. I don’t think the Cubs have the bullets to get it done.

Just look at Trouts baseball reference page. HOF lock already.

Cubs have some nice players, but don’t be delusional, none are even half the player Trout is.

Did I hear this right? He just went 8 games and only made 7 outs over that span. That's crazy!

Yeah and a lot of meatball Cub fans still think half their roster is better.

Are you saying people think individual Cubs are better than Trout?

or

Are you saying people think it's crazy to trade half their talent away to get him?

Why the fuck would any World Series competitive team trade away half their starting team to acquire Trout? He'd be jumping from one shitty situation to another. It reminds me of the Herschel Walker trade.

No he's saying Cub fans think the Cubs have 13 players better than Trout.

I said I would “start” with that . Then see what they say and counter.

Do you think the Rangers should have received more for A-Rod?

Through age 25, they are nearly identical.

Griffey had 5 monster seasons from 26-30.

Trout is well on his way in this, his age 26 season.

I'm guessing this is simply a troll post.

The Angels would take that and run. They'd be crazy not to.

Give me prime Griffey, especially since he was a lefty bat.

No, he wasn't. Trout is a better all around hitter and a much better baserunner. If trout continues his current trajectory he'll be up there with Ruth, Mays, Aaron. . . the true immortals of the game. 2018 Trout is better than any version of Griffey.
