Cody Bellinger played in the LLWS. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. That dude was projectable at the age of 12.

Not many have had a "last 162 games" than Cody.

Reader can tell you all about the Cheatolini baseball team. Blame the adults but the kids knew they did wrong. Or maybe he has an excuse?

I think you're wrong about the kids but talking to Reader about baseball is always good advice.

That's shit. Even if the kids knew, what did you want a bunch of 12 year olds to do. Storm the coaches house and demand they follow the rules or the team quits. This isn't a Disney movie. If the coach tells them everything is OK, they just go with it and play.

What do you want me to say? The teams I helped run were completely legal. I kept the paperwork and addressed any concerns, completely in the open with our league President. During that time we won 2 state titles and were cheated out of a 3rd.:

The team that got nailed was run by a handful of parents that were dumbasses. And I could tell you volumes about then and now that is far worse than that

And the one that lost in the regional finals at Indy the prior year was largely made up of the younger brothers of my last team, MANY of whom already are committed to D 1 schools. Like 6 of my kids are.

Which was the main point.

LLWS is both wonderful and grotesque.

I really think ESPN should get out of the business of televising team sporting events below the college level.
