Norfolk or Virginia Beach is mildly intriguing but the Orioles and Nats would throw a bitchfit.

Didnt the expos play in Puerto Rico for a year before moving to DC?

No, they played about a third of their 2003 and 2004 home schedules in San Juan, but they were still the Montreal Expos.

FUN FACT: because of a hurricane, an Expos@Marlins game in '04 got moved to Comiskey. Sinicalypse was probably there.

I was there for both of those games. Marlins went 2-0. I still have the ticket stubs somewhere.

FUN FACT 2: Josh Beckett is the only pitcher to ever get a hit at New Comiskey/ The Cell/ The Rate.

It's still right below the US.

There should be at least one more team in New York.

At least one.

The market could more than support it, but good luck getting the Mets and Yankees to agree to have their revenue streams and value immediately reduced by a not insignificant amount.

It's like the NHL, they have struggled for years trying to place franchises into markets and getting them to be successful. The consensus is if Toronto would get a second team it would be one of the five most valuable franchises the day after it was founded.

It might even make sense to put a third NY team on the outskirts in the direction of CT. A lot of people seem to live out that way and work in NYC. Or some may want to go to the game without going into the city.

The Bronx is already in the direction of Connecticut: Yankee Stadium is on the railroad lines that go to Fairfield County and the Hudson Valley, and you've gotta believe those areas are dyed-in-the-wool Yankees (and NY Giants) fans. A third team would have to be oriented toward Jersey. I'm guessing Madison Square Garden would either own the team or at least the TV rights (MSG hasn't had baseball since the Yankees started YES).
